I had an amazing experience at Shade Lucy is so talented and friendly. The salon space is calm and peaceful and they take the time to be super detailed with exactly what you want. I made a mistake with my timing and Lucy worked her butt off to make sure I got to work in time. Cannot recommend this place enough ❤️❤️
I’ve been coming to Shade for a couple of years now and it’s the calmest hair salon I’ve been to, with a really lovely vibe. Lucy is lovely and excellent at what she does, and always takes the time to make sure she understands what you’re after, and that you’re happy the whole way through the process. Some hair salons can feel quite “judgy” and Shade is the opposite of this. I’ve always been very happy when leaving Shade, and would thoroughly recommend!
Such an all round brilliant hair dye experience with Jessica Oakley! Felt so at ease and comfortable. Really professional , confident colourist who knows what she’s doing. The products are incredible - bleached and my hair is softer! She even gave a complimentary trim to style it better. Really appreciated every minute of her time, and she went above and beyond ! Definitely going back x
Went to this salon today for the first time and Jess cut my hair, dont think I've ever had a better salon experience. Firstly as someone neurodivergent the atmosmosphere is lovely and isnt overwhelming, Jess took the time to talk to me so I had time to process what it is I wanted and checked in with me throughout the entire style to make sure I was still happy. Outside of that she let me sit in silence so I was able to relax without feeling pressure to socialise. She was really friendly and supportive and made the entire experience really calming. On top of that I love the hair style, she fully understood what I was after even though I'm not great at explaining it and the hair do felt really customised to my face shape and style. A genuine pleasure.
So clean, gentle and relaxing. In such a stunning building. Always a joy to visit as I've had difficulty finding a hairdresser in the past. Highly recommended

The best haircut I’ve ever had. Jay was so kind and friendly. His attention to detail was next level and I came out with exactly what I wanted. He gave me styling tips and taught me how to manage and care for my hair outside the salon. He also did a little meditation for me while I was having my hair dried. He really went above and beyond. I would recommend him to anyone and I will definitely be returning ✨
Best salon experience I’ve ever had. Jay was amazing, his space is beautiful with all the amenities as well as lovely music playing and a great aroma. I was nervous to get my haircut as a neurodiverse + queer person but he told me everything he was doing before he did it and created a really relaxing environment. Got a great facial and felt like I was reborn. Really happy with the cut and style as this man knows how to work with curls!! Will definitely return for my next trim and a color. Really friendly service and the highest quality result. Thanks again.
I've been going to Jay to get my hair done for over six years and couldn't recommend him more highly. He always has brilliant ideas to change up my style but also keeps it very practical so I know I can manage it day to day.
