I was a long-term client with the owner Jonathan, great barber who always managed to cover up the bald patch on the middle of my head - so I stayed loyal and tipped well given their low rates. That was up until it become clear to me that his cocky barber Ollie had been bad-mouthing me behind my back for no reason other than that I'm quite a warm and chatty lad - Ollie even had the nerve to insult me to my face as well on several occasions, a mind-blowing way to treat the people who are paying your wages. In no way should a client be leaving the shop angry at not being treated with respect - but this fact is lost on Ollie who has the business brain of a cabbage. Jon should've stamped it out as the owner but the reality is Ollie leads Jon and not the other way round - so now I'm going elsewhere as I don't need the aggro. This is not the friendly barber shop that it might seem on the surface - largely because Jon hasn't got it in him to stand up to his employees and set the right tone. A word of warning.

Very high quality cut (even on my mess of a hairstyle) in an efficient time all whilst having a good chat with the barber. Great value for money and you can even have a coffee whilst having your haircut!

I’ve been going to Harry at the Village Barber for almost a year after moving to Didsbury and cannot fault the place one bit. The staff are friendly and like a laugh and the haircuts are always how I want them to a T. The price is unbeatable for the quality of service on Burton Road.

Been here a few times, last time was literally the best haircut I've ever got for a decent price (£15.50). Had an appointment with Jonathan who runs the shop, really fast and efficient, chatty but no messing about. Spend a decent bit of time on a fade and the step down in shortness is very detailed, very impressed. Isn't often I come out from a haircut immediately loving it, but this time was an exception. Will likely be back soon, nice one.

Highly recommend. Booking was super simple, interior was well kept and presentable (except for the Manchester City merch.), Harry was polite and chatty and I'm super happy with the trim. Been going for a year or so now and the experience has always been great.

A Great barber shop, Jonathan is super friendly and loves a chat. Makes you feel so welcome. Great price and the service is impeccable. I moved over here from Australia and was looking for a barber. Would most definitely recommend the village barber. You won't be disappointed

The best barber shop by far. I've been going to the Village Barber for the last 16 years. After visiting 3 other barbers when i first moved here I was so pleased with this one I've not needed to go anywhere else since. Great banter, free coffee and my hair is cut "exactly how i ask" unlike some other barber shops ive been to. My wife and sister are both hairdressers however i still insist on going to the Village Barber which must say something about this shop. A Great shop, A Good laugh and a Great Barber. it was nice to have a barber who has skill when he cuts hair, he cuts a lot with scissors and doesn't just hammer the clippers all of the time !!
