Went in fit a product asked a lady and she just pointed me in the direction. Came back saif I wasn't able to find it hoping she could show me. She wasn't bothered and just pointed again and said it's on the right while leaning back in the chair not doing much. Well done wickes
Great for household builders DIY materials, kitchen, bathrooms, paints, tiles, laminate flooring etc. Not necessarily the cheapest, but look out for special offers. Register for tradepro account to get additional 10% discount.
Came to buy some bathroom tiles, I had a question and was difficult to find a staff member on the floor, when staff members seen me approaching they quickly walked off. Would have bought more items unfortunately staff unwilling to help. When paying at the till, again staff didn’t engage just having a conversation with each other while showing each other posts on Facebook.
Wickes is the place to go if you have a lot of cash to splash for good tools or timber if needed, but the problem is that the prices for tools and timber are going up every few months and you can easily spend more than you wanted to. Paint prices are insane and the timber has gone up, in fact one example is of studwork going up by 30p, it doesn't sound like a lot but when you are buying a lot of it over time it begins to add up and makes DIY more expensive than it should be. I would only recommend going to Wickes if you're doing a one-off project because these timber prices are not justifiable, why does it keep going up? The staff are good and will usually help you out. Overall I give Wickes a 5/10
PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! The geriatric One Direction guys in the kitchen/bathroom design DO NOT CARE! They have your money now so aftercare plummets. Reading the reviews here are very similar if not the same. They are consistently bad. Busy on their own phones, will not turn around from computers or look up from their own phones. If you have to go in please only deal with the lovely lady there called Maria. Do your sale with her as Maria is consistently good. Gives excellent customer service. Is patient and has time for you even though she knows the sale has already been done with Harry Styles Grandad! she cares. However found out my worktops are double the price in Wickes. Same ones half the price in Howdens and Homebase. If I could give zero stars I would. Please shop around. You have been warned. Remember you have a choice. Management don’t seem bothered either. How this store is still open is beyond me. They got some of the measurements wrong luckily it could be fixed by kitchen fitter.
I recently visited Half Price Items and was disappointed to find that many items in the 'half price' basket were not actually half price. After trying a few items on, I noticed that the price tags on the tails showed the original price, which was significantly higher than the discounted price advertised in the basket. I brought this to the attention of a staff member, but they seemed unconcerned and uninterested in rectifying the situation. As a customer, I expect transparency and honesty when it comes to pricing, and this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope that Half Price Items can improve their practices to prevent this from happening to other customers in the future.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This company, specifically the kitchen/bathroom installation department has made my Mother's life a misery for nearly a year. Everything has been a disaster and my Mother has been without a kitchen or bathroom for a year and is currently living with her sister until this situation is resolved. What makes this worse is the constant adverts on the radio promoting Wickes bathroom/kitchen department- is this a joke?!! I want to speak to a senior manager asap. Avoid this company!!
dreadful experience, according to their website they fit Laminate flooring, I arranged a call from someone who told me a designer would contact me and take the measurements and give me a quote. I wasn't contacted and had to ring them myself, I was told they don't understand whats happened because they don't fit laminate flooring and they would check what has happened and get back to me. They called me back a few days later and said that they would fit it and I had to come in to pick the laminate I wanted, I was told I would get an email with the quote, I received an email saying they only fit laminate with a full kitchen/bathroom project, absolute joke, won't be going back.
Wickes doesn't have a proper control over the fitters who are contractors. My bathroom is now being installed for a fifth week (fifth week without the bathroom and with the rest of the house in disarray!) Because the fitters put in only around 2-3 hours of work a day. Yet Wickes "cannot" address this situation.
