   Great quality timber very few timber yards left like this been going for years far better than the DIY superstores for timber . But I called for a price and to check stock . Happy with the price quoted turned up the size I wanted wasn't in stock so was told it was milled at the other yard on the otherside of Bolton . Turned in the other yard went into the timber racks none left completely empty but could do with a alternative size which they had but charged a ⅓ more . Bit more work to cut it down and my time to get the job done . Really disappointing as it was a fixed price job so I took the hit on the additional timber cost . I don't make anything on the timber Materials cost and expect the price quoted on the stock available to be reasonably close to the price paid . If they said we don't have this but we have this at ££ . No issues whatsoever because I will quote the my customer the higher price .

   I messaged them to ask if the wood was dry as I needed it dry for a project I was doing, I was told it was but other than a few pieces the wood is wet through and will take months to dry!! I've had to spend more money and purchase some elsewhere in the meantime. Won't be using them again!!

   Went to the big DiY shops but wasn't impressed. Called in at Axfords on a Saturday morning, staff were lovely, was given advice by Martin (owner), took a little time to show us stock in warehouse (not on display yet). Also had a list of joiners that they recommend. No hard selling. Rang Steve (off said list) he called round, measured up & quoted for entire job (9 solid internal doors). Price was very acceptable, all 9 doors ordered to shop, trimmed in shop & expertly fitted in my house in 2 weeks. Steve pretty much project manged the job, we picked the doors & hardware at home from the brochure, the shop dropped a text when they were in stock & paid with card over phone. Stephen in shop kept us up to date with where the order was up to. We only actually visited shop once, would definitely recommend & use again.

   I have got timber from here before to make a wall mount for a projector screen, they cut to to the point and it worked perfectly. I also asked them if they would cut a IKEA unit for me today to customise it and they did that. Really good local friendly and helpful firm. Definitely recommend.

   I just went to get a quote for a kitchen but left after 5 minutes. At 4:15 an employee has told me 'we are closing soon' they close at 5. 45 minutes would be enough for a good sales person to show around and at least talk about their product. He looked at my plan and said I would need to leave it because he is on his own and can't do it now. There was no other customers at the time and my plan is only for a small kitchen . Overall he looked like he wasn't bothered.
