Quirky location over a shoe shop. Nice vegetarian breakfast and lots of choice. Very clean. Lovely warm / friendly waitresses.
Once they have your money they do not give it back, company policy is to issue a credit note but this policy is not displayed at the till (reason is it would discourage custom), it's at the bottom of the receipt, but how do you know this archaic policy before purchase? We are asked to shop local but would Clarks treat you this way?
This shop does not disappoint. A large selection of high quality shoes, handbags and accessories at reasonable prices. The staff are extremely helpful and there is an old world charm to the shop that is reminiscent of days gone by. I had a lovely morning shopping there with my daughter, punctuated by a visit to the charming cafe on the first floor. This is how shopping should and used to be. Well done Pettits, I'll be back.
Nice clean premises although work was in progress. Sale items great in sizes that were not mine! Staff attentive and helpful.

We've had a Petitts in our small town for quite a while now, I'd often walked by admiring the shoes from the window. On one occasion I fell in love with a pair of boots and very soon ordered them for Christmas. Before I knew it, I fell in love with another pair and just had to have those too. A year later and I have another pair of gorgeous boots hidden away for Christmas and a stylish pair for a night out this weekend. I'm hooked! Ordering is so easy, even better with a discount code, always appreciated. Returns to store are easy and stress free too. Popped in today to pick my latest order up and the guy who served me was so friendly, knew exactly who I was (my work name tag was a give away) but he knew just what I'd ordered and where it was. My order was only placed yesterday. Gorgeous quality footwear on the doorstep.
Good Morning, I attended your shop with my children on Saturday 15/10/22 and one of your store assistants measured their feet and fitted their boots. I brought my kids in socks and their crocs for ease. I believed they were trained and skilled professionals so I had no reason to doubt their advice. I was told her size was a 5.5 and that the boots at size 6 gave growing room. I purchased the boots. I forgot to order slippers so I ordered next day delivery from next online, the same size, they came 16/10/22 and on fitting them I found they were too small. I was shocked and confused, but assumed different brand, different fit but I thought I had better check, I then got the boots out of the box and tried them on my daughter to find they were also too small. I then checked her shoes that she usually wears and I was shocked to find they were the same size, size 6! I am at work so I asked my mum to immediately return to the shop today 17/10 to ask for a refund as we have lost all confidence in your shops ability to fit shoes, to be informed that you do not permit refunds and it is an exchange or credit note only! We have taken the credit note but I am disgusted that on shoes that are fitted by one of your staff members that you do not permit refunds when the error is on your staffs ability to fit shoes. I have made a formal complaint.
This is one of my all-time favourite cafes. The food, service and value you for money is outstanding. I love the fact that they provide newspapers to read. This cafe and shop is one of Yorkshire's finest. Absolutely top marks. Mr H
Nice old place. Good for a coffee break. I just visited the cafe. I had a coffee latte and toasted teacake both were pretty good. They have free wifi. They have some nice old pictures of Mexbrough on the wall
