I like this cex, good range of games on offer. I will say though, I bought a PS4 that turned out it didn't work so I took it back the next morning and the store colleague said he needed to test it first and told me to come back at the appointment slot (10 minutes later) I stayed in the shop and browsed. I watched him and he never tested it, went back and asked how it went and he replaced it for me. I don't know what the point was on the appointment slip. Maybe it's just how it's done, could of been better explained. One of the guys, I can't remember his name was fantastic. (An Asian gent) Helped me with a separate transaction. Always good customer service from him. The other two not so much, seemed like they didn't want to be there. Too busy drinking monster and at one point one was swearing loudly from behind the counter which seemed inappropriate as had a child with me.

Used this store twice this week, and both times they've messed up. First time, they charged us for a game they didn't put in the bag so we didn't know it was gone until we got home. Second time, tried buying a game and they put another games disk that wasn't the one we bought. Not using this store again.

Brought an iPhone SE 128gb at 4pm today to sell. The guy turned it on went to look at the battery health and said because itβs 80% the battery is on its way out and would need replacing :/ said they donβt buy them like that :/ absolute lies. The iPhone was in fantastic condition no dings or scratchβs and had the box and plug/charging cable! The bottom line is he couldnβt be bothered to test it! Took it to a shop up the road and got Β£21 more than cex would have paid us if they could be bothered so worked out in the end. Avoid this branch there is zero customer service and staff lie. 80% is acceptable at any main retailer that buys phones and if you google it cex state this themselves.

Went in with the intent to trade in some old phones and consoles, and was met by a very cold employee, boarderline rude. The shop was completely empty, as a retail worker myself I understand the feeling of boredom and frustration for having to work a slow shift but the outwards hostility when I approached asking to trade them in and then being turned away was unprofessional. I understand being turned away from trading in as I had come in 40mins before closing but the attitude and way it was said was unpleasant . I still have the consoles to trade but am nervous to return to the shop out of fear of meeting a similar situation

I didn't feel particularly welcome in store, and I left feeling that they could have done 100% better if they had proactively engaged with me and displayed a little more pleasantry. I think it's quite sad, really, as it was mostly only one guy who let the team down. I went to trade some stuff for a voucher, which meant I would have to wait for diagnostics to be performed. No problem, this was expected on this store visit. So I planned to go have a greggs and come back. Before I went, I said very politely to the two gentlemen behind the counter "thanks guys for sorting it right now, I'll see you in a bit." There was no reply. This is just basic customer interaction. Mesmerising. When I returned I tried to make polite conversation a couple more times but you know when you feel like you're talking to a stone? This was that. I expressed that with my trade voucher, I would like to purchase a graphics card, and there was one in the window that may fit my machine, but wasn't sure. "Do you want it then?" Wow. I wonder how much it costs Cex per year for situations like these where people walk away as little to no advice is offered? This isn't the first time I have felt like this in Cex at Castleford by the way. The man in front of the house sorting out orders was adequate, but he could have gone above and beyond if he had fancied it. I didn't think either of them could be bothered. It's not the super worst experience I have ever had. Definitely, a case of a little more effort to proactively interact with customers would go a long way here.

Great help and support from the guys at Castleford as I made a few attempts to get compatible memory to upgrade my laptop. All is now sorted. I would happily use this store again.

This is a nice little shopping centre store that has separate content laid out appropriately, from where I purchased The Campaign movie for a brilliant price of Β£1! I found the staff to be friendly and the shop well-presented, with cleanliness maintained throughout.
