We hadn't been here before but goodness me we will definitely be back! The food was outstanding, everyone who we spoke to was so lovely and attentive and we really enjoyed ourselves. We were lucky enough to have a voucher this time from a gift but I would happily spend my money here as its such good quality for the price

Took husband to East for his birthday. He loved it! The food was great and the atmosphere very nice .
We have never been before and now we don't know why! We went for dinner on a Monday night, so it was nice and quiet. There is a few parking spaces (free) at an entrance just off the bridge. The staff was lovely and very friendly. We had 2 curries, rice and rotis. The food was all very delicious. We also had the deep friend ice cream and cheese cake for dessert and it can definitely be recommended. The view from the boat with the swans are lovely and quite romantic. We will be back for sure!
I’ve known this restaurant for several years and frequently visit its partner pub below deck. It is convenient for the city centre by the main river bridge. The Dutch barge is huge & very stable, with the restaurant tables having fine views along the river. The menu does focus on Thai food but with many other eastern cuisines also represented. The prices are not steep and the service was efficient - the bowl of crackers & help ordering were good. Portion size is not huge but that actually means one eats well without getting bloated. Four of us had a variety of dishes - all were well prepared & served, though the heat-rating (chilli impact) on some dishes was maybe exaggerated. Wine by the glass and beers from Charters (you can order or go & fetch your choice) were above average. The fact that the toilets are shared with the pub means they’re a bit more rough & ready than you’d expect in a good restaurant. All in all, well worth a visit with choice for most tastes.
Visited East for the first time yesterday took my partner for his birthday meal and we wasn’t disappointed, the environment, service and quality / presentation of the food was by far one of the best we’ve ever had at a restaurant in the UK and we can’t wait to return. Thank you East team for making it a truly great experience.

We visited tonight as a large group of friends. Unfortunately the restaurant couldn't fit us in but advised us to reserve an area in the bar downstairs. They went out of their way to accommodate us, bringing food downstairs and the food was amazing. Thank you to Dougie and the serving staff for looking after us so well.
