Eis Café – Ladypool Road: Aesthetics Great, Experience… Not So Much Visited Eis Café recently, and while the place certainly delivers on aesthetics — clean, modern, and visually pleasing — the actual food and drink left a lot to be desired. I tried their cookie dough (£10) and unfortunately it had almost no real flavour, more of a sugar bomb than a dessert. The coffee, although cheaper, was equally disappointing with a very weak and forgettable taste. In total, I spent around £13, and honestly, it’s money I won’t see again and an experience I’m not keen to repeat. It might be worth trying once if you’re curious, but with so many great dessert spots and cafés in Birmingham, this one doesn’t quite make the list of places I’d return to. Here’s hoping they improve, because the ambience deserves better food and drink to match.

Have loads of cake options, we tried the dubai pistachio cake - super packed with flavour and has nice crunchy bits. Got matcha and tiramisu ice cream. Lovely atmosphere!!

I love this desert place as they don’t do the typical overly sweet & over priced waffles, deserts, drinks which don’t really taste of alot. The tray baked cakes/milkcakes etc are good quality and different to what you can get anywhere else in desert places. The hot desserts are also nice and light. The prices are good for what you get however recently their portions seem to have gotten slightly smaller, so I’m hoping it’s not a permanent move. Their drinks are good also and again actually taste nice. It’s not just teabags from an Asda or Aldi. The customer service is really good and the place is clean and tidy.

Wow, crazy good dessert parlour! I came here many years ago when it was tiny but since me and my other half were in the area, though it was cheeky not pop in and have an ice cream. The place is huge and the staff are friendly. The service is crazy good and the ice cream, just wow! High quality ingredients with a really great price especially compared to many places in the UK currently. Recommend coming here at least once!

Love their new outlet. Decor was minimal & clean. Desserts of course were delicious. I ordered mini pancakes & i can’t wait to go back for more.

Really excited for my visit today. Huge fans of the the small heath branch. Sadly was disappointed with my first visit to the Ladypool Road store. Ordered the mini doughnuts, concrete cake and kunafe. Concrete cake and kunafe were good. The mini doughnuts order was wrong which was corrected (Dutch pancakes arrived instead). When the mini doughnuts arrived I was really disappointed. Nothing like the advertised photos. Reheated doughnut which were chewy- minimal icing sugar so they weren’t actually sweet. Drinks all round were good so that bumped up to 2 stars. Really really disappointed in the mini (not so mini) doughnuts. Sadly no one even cared to ask why 3.5 doughnuts out of the original 4 still remained on the plate. Really hope this gets corrected. Table next to us had a similar response to the mini doughnuts too.

The new branch has a modern feel to it with ample seating. The desserts though are still the same delicious treats you’d expect from EIS Cafe!
