An actual affordable place to get a sandwich or baguette! Really glad a place like this exists for less than £3 I can get a hand prepared sandwich hot or cold. Plenty of options and friendly service, couldn’t ask for more!

According to other reviews the food is good, but I can't tell you if this is true now because the 2 times recently I have tried to go here to eat I ended up leaving without a meal. ( I had been in before but that was around 9 years ago and I have no clear memories of the place back then) First time I waited 5 minutes before finding out they only take cash payment. I had only my cards on me. Fine, that's their choice. But a strange one in an economy where physical money is becoming the exception, not the rule. And where some of the beggers in the city centre sport pdqs. I left hungry and a tad confused. This time I was prepared. Money in my pocket, checked opening hours (close at 3pm) it was about 1:25 when I left to order various bacon and sausage sandwiches for myself and 3 others. I tried to phone my order in as I headed over, but my call went unanswered. I assumed they must be busy. They weren't. 3 customers, one already eating. I processed to wait to order. And wait. And wait. Heading on for 10 minutes later and still unacknowledged, another customer came in that the lady behind the counter greeted by name and nodded as he gave his order ahead of me. Finally my turn and feeling put out by now, i started to give my order and was interrupted by her merrily informing me that they don't cook hot food after 1:15. No 'I'm sorry but' just 'we dont' Open till 3pm, but stop hot food 1 hour 45 minutes before then? I understand kitchens do shut down before closing time, but 1 hour 45 mins before, in a cafe, seems excessive. After informing me, she just looked at me, no offer of alternatives or anything. Just silence. So I left for the second time, hungry and confused. There will not be a third time.

Lovely little place with delicious breakfast. Owners seem to know the locals which is always nice. A hidden gem in Kings Heath and certainly makes the freshes breakfast around. Look forward to trying their lunches when I next pop in!

I was in Kings Heath to get my car serviced. Mrs Beatons Kitchen is near to All Electric Skoda. I enjoyed a really tasty "Full English" breakfast there this morning. Two sausages, two thick rashers of bacon, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and a fried egg. Accompanied by four thick buttered slices of toast and washed down with a mug of tea. Perfect. It was just what I needed while I waited for the call to collect my car. If you enjoy "people watching", the big windows let you watch the world go by while you get fed and watered at a reasonable price.

We have just purchased 2 sandwiches, the one sandwich on brown bread had mould on the crust and the bread wasn't fresh. I Took it back to be told that the bread is fresh everyday, and that the hot weather had made the mould grow! , as it was bread from a bakery and not a supermarket!!!!!. I can't believe that someone selling sandwiches doesn't check the bread beforehand. We have had sandwiches from there twice before but never again. The women who had made the sandwich apologised and gave me back £2.20, but that is not the issue. It's public safety and food hygiene, which needs looking at in this sandwich shop..

Bacon, sausage and egg with red sauce baguette is honestly the best thing you could ever have.
