This place has been 4 different 'restaurants' in the past ten years. This parade of shops is cursed

Had veg kothu parotta and it’s a great taste. Excellent place in Northfield / Kings Norton to have authentic South Indian or srilankan food. Have yet to try non veg foods. Edit on 12/11/2024: The shop owner has changed and remains closed during summer holidays.

Attended today as a group of 7 for lunch, we sat down&ordered our food at 12.30, I recieved my food at 1.40 whilst everyone else at the table was eating theirs, my husband ordered a burger meal but only recieved his burger, we asked where his fries were for her to just bring 2 plates to the table and not say what or who they were for. My friend ordered a mutton curry with boiled rice, she recieved her curry but not her rice instead was given chips, my friends daughter ordered a tuna&sweetcorn wrap to be served a tuna salad, my other friend ordered a omelette an it didn't look edible one bit, she barely ate it, none of us were given our cans with our food, the vinegar had bits floating in it, when I did eventually get my curry the bowls and plates were filthy, I wouldn't feed it my dog it was disgusting I gave it back to her, there were bones in my chicken, it tasted powdery and over powered with spice, the egg fried rice had onions, lettuce, carrots and peppers in it was lacking soy sauce.. We actually ended up just leaving. My friend was then charged 14 pounds for a mutton, a kids meal and a tuna wrap, with the woman Insisting she ordered chips and she did not. Shocking service will not be coming back.

I frequented this establishment yesterday with my colleague. Arrived at 8:45 (prime breakfast time) we were the only customers in the building. 2 large breakfasts ordered and 2 coffees (included according to the menu) 35 minutes later after much badgering, arrived 2 nearly Complete breakfasts with shrivelled overcooked β€œmushrooms”, 2 overcooked VERY fried eggs and cold toast. Acceptable sausage and bacon but the β€œharsh browns” were quite nice. No sign of beans or tomatoes as advertised but I was asked after the delivery of the breakfast if I did want some. (Based on the timescale it took to cook an egg I felt it best to decline) Because of the time it took to receive a breakfast I requested the coffees in a 2go cup. After eating the breakfast quickly as we were now rushed for time. I asked where the coffees were. Another 5 minutes later we received 1 coffee. On being questioned they seemed puzzled why 2 people who ordered 2 large breakfasts which included 2 coffees would be requesting another?! At this point I saw in the background the β€œbarista”/chef/the second employee put a pan on the stove to make another β€œinstant” coffee. Β£17 pounds later we walked out disappointed, disheartened, disillusioned with only 1 coffee to keep us warm during the cold morning. I am not for moment suggesting that the chef nor the waiter are not university graduates but I can tell you that they are not cooks, they do not follow their own menu or give anything that I would consider to be any form of customer service.

My wife attended yesterday with her friends for breakfast and her feed back is that the food was cold, eggs didn't have runny yolk, bacon was very hard and chrewy, she wasn't given an option on if she wanted beans or tomatoes but was given beans anyway, when on a full English breakfast they both come with it, the customer service was shocking, she had to ask them if she could pay because they didn't ask her for payment, the looks the woman gives to her customers are shocking and my wife ended up leaving as she was so mad. 18 pound for 3 breakfasts isn't bad but when the food is a sold 6/10. Do better.
