Absolutely loved our visit to Tamu Cafe in Bearwood. We ordered the sweetcorn fritters and they were genuinely amazing. Crisp, flavourful, and the kind of dish that makes you pause mid-conversation because your brain is busy being impressed. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and to make things even better, the table next to us ordered the pistachio French toast. One look at it and we were already planning our return visit before we’d finished our plates. It looked unreal. Can’t wait to go back and try it.

Really delicious food here with really nice flavours. Definitely something for everyone here with a variety of sweet and savoury options ranging from traditional brunch items to more lunchy items. Many vegetarian options but also some nice meat options. Lots of the food can also be made vegan by swapping out eggs / halloumi. Really good service and nice atmosphere.

If you’re searching for a truly satisfying brunch in Birmingham, look no further than Tamu in Bearwood. The atmosphere is beautifully calm and inviting, with soft lighting and a relaxed, welcoming vibe that sets the tone from the moment you walk in. The food is Absolutely delicious and freshly prepared with care and flavor that reflects both tradition and creativity. Whether you’re a carnivore or vegetarian, the menu has something for everyone, and the portion sizes are generous without being overwhelming. The pricing is fair, especially considering the quality and taste. What makes Tamu even more special is its people. The owner along with her warm and professional British staff, create a space that feels both personal and culturally rich. As visited from the states, Tamu is always on my list as a place I look forward to returning to whenever I’m in town.

Great place for breakfast or brunch! The food is served very elegantly and the taste is absolutely delicious, mashallah. Everything is halal, which is the most important thing for us. The place is a bit small and feels a little crowded β€” I wish there was an indoor area where I could control the kids better. We ordered two main dishes and two kids’ meals, and on Mondays the drinks are free. Everything was great and tasty, except for the last cake slice, which was very dry. Overall, the prices are a bit expensive, but definitely worth it.

Tamu Cafe is a small but remarkable eatery that shines through its welcoming vibe, thoughtful staff, and creative, flavour-packed brunch dishes. It’s particularly strong in catering to diverse dietary needs and offering a memorable cafΓ© experienceβ€”just be mindful that seating may get tight and parking can be limited. Overall, it’s a lovely, highly recommended spot for brunch, coffee, or a casual catch-up.

Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast here, only down side was the hot drinks came out first and the long wait till the breakfast was ready meant ice cold drinks. I did ask if it could be heated/replaced but was told nothing could be done so 4 stars.

Was honestly better than it looks... And it looks lovely anyway so it felt like a double win. I ended up ordering a savory brunch but honestly there's a decent variety and everything tasted phenomenal and fresh and balanced. They deserve your money. Service is polite and fast... Wish they opened everyday of the week at this point... Will definitely go back again. . . My friend was pleasantly surprised at how big the portions were and took her food to go in the end. Such a great gem.

It's just as good as all the reviews on here say it is. Prices are pretty decent, the service great and the food is incredible, looks and tastes superb. It's a bit cramped when it gets busy, that's about all I can think to whinge about. Really looking forward to going back soon!
