   We had booked & when arrived advised no booking. Empty tables in cafe..Staff wished see evidence of booking! Made me feel uncomfortable & not welcomed at all. We did sit at large table after being left standing. The situation could have been handled better. Disappointed with my food, staff didnt check in see if drinks/meals ok. 1st visit for my social group not so sure Ill rush back. *** On the day email sent & they acknowledged they had made an error and didnt put booking on system. ***

   Humble & homely Some say the Belgian Chocolate drink, Belgian chocolate mixed with foamed milk, is not sweet enough. I’m not a sweet fan, personally I’d say it’s a touch too sweet. With this first world problem highlighted, I’m happy to proceed with a glowing review. What a historic setting with humble staff. Plenty of seating inside and out. If your cockles aren’t warmed by the Belgian beverage, pop next door and watch the glass making demonstration.

   Well worth a visit not only to see inside the cone but also the glass and craft shops surrounding it - free parking opposite site too and a nice cafe for a cake and a cuppa !

   The review is for the Red House Glass Cone and its cafe. The centre is great if you are interested in glass and I am. It is part of the historic Stourbridge Glass Quarter and was built at the end of the 18th century. and is situated on the canals. It is the only glass manufacturing cone remaining in the UK. As well as learning more about glass and seeing craftspeople at work, there are also events scheduled through their year. The onsite cafe sells coffee, teas, hot chocolate and homemade cakes and snacks.
