Stunning house, visit if you can as a wonderful and rare tour of the behind the scenes showing the butlers pantry and the brewery site. Also the Regency dressing room, do take advantage and dress up as your own Mr Darcy/Elizabeth as it really enhances the experience for you and those around you. The garden is great even in Autumn and dogs are very welcome A great day

Had a great time, as always at Lyme Park with our daughter & grandchildren. (5&3) We love the gardens & all the Summer activities for the children are fantastic, along with the adventure playground which our girls loved! We enjoyed the refreshments in the cafes. It’s really great place to visit with so much history to explore in & around the house. We’ve only really just scratched the surface & we want to do more of the walks all around the estate in the future.

Until the end of August 2025, if you visit the park by public transport, you can enter Lyme Park for free. See the website for more information. It’s best to arrive earlier if possible, as the house and garden close around 4 p.m. There is a shuttle bus stop near the admission hut. Simply present your train or bus ticket at the hut and request a shuttle to the main house. If you prefer a leisurely walk, it takes about 20 minutes to reach the house and garden. On your way back, ask the volunteers about the alternative path back to the park entrance that offers a much better view. Many thanks to the volunteer who told us about it, the view was truly stunning.

Nice day out, grounds are big and wheel chair/push chair friendly. Some steps involved but places to leave the pushchairs. Lots of nice flowers and good woodland areas, shame about the fountain and pool being dry tho or half dry! Lovely landscapes all round and well maintained. We spent couple hours here but have done many halls before, you can make it an all day thing with other activities near by or longer walks around the grounds. The best view for me came from the top of the fields just outside the house, if you have a good camera with a good zoom lens or binoculars it over looks Manchester and Manchester airport! Great for those plane watchers! Also in more windy weather like today it’s good for kite flying on the hill top.

Vast grounds, interesting house and knowledgeable volunteer room guides. The main lake near the house was part drained, so otherwise five stars. Gardens are worth a look, but the "cage" whilst open on the ground floor is quite a walk for not very much until it's refurbished and fully open again.

Visited 25/10/2022, very popular location and lots of parking but fills up fast too. Great staff at the Timber Yard cafe, very helpful and getting requests done with ease for food and drink. Lots of walks to be done, family friendly and buggy friendly. Also steep incline to house from car park so there is a mini bus you can use to get you up to top with ease if you need it. The grounds are very scenic and worth a visit, highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic stately home with lots to see both inside and outside. Lots of rooms stuffed full of furniture and personal items that make it feel homely. The Room Steward's have a wealth of information who can answer any question. A lovely gift shop full of tasteful item for the home as well as some local beer, jams and chutneys, biscuits and sweets. The grounds are extensive with plenty of walking round pretty gardens as well as The Cage, a hunting lodge on the hill. There's also a lovely little orangery with tropical plants. There's also a cafe to rest and recover with home made cakes.

Beautiful place. Only downside was kids play area was closed for renovation on the day but we'll be back! Something for everyone. Perfect for walking, coffee and ice cream, strolling the house and gardens. Kids outdoor play area; when open :) Nice touch having free to borrow balance bikes for toddlers. My toddler enjoyed having his first ever ride on one.
