   A lunchtime Christmas meal for 14 with the chosen meals booked in advance found us waiting an hour for a simple starter such as breaded mushrooms. The main simple processed turkey dinner arriving one hour forty five minutes after sitting down. Felt awful for our organiser and disappointed that eventually a poor excuse of a missing member of staff was the reason. The meals were delivered at different times and the one member of our group had to wait until we had all finished eating. What a horrid let-down.

   Went for a large family lunch for my daughters birthday. There were 19 of us so we pre ordered, the kids food cane out in minutes and the adults wasnt far behind. Everyone was very helpful and there were no issues at all. Never have any problems here and the food is always well cooked, would recommend.

   Would genuinely recommend this pub to anybody.. the pub is well kept and has such a family friendly atmosphere with polite, down to earth staff who always provide an efficient service. I regularly come here with my family and friends as the food is always flawless, reasonably priced and their barefoot rosé wine is unmatched. Never had a bad experience at Smithy’s Forge.

   My family enjoyed the food at Smithy's Forge today. We had nachos and garlic bread for starters. For the mains we ordered the mixed grill, tandoori chicken and rice, sausage and mash and fish and chips. For puddings we ordered the ice cream sundaes and chocolate brownie with ice cream. All of the meals tasted good and the food/ drinks were well priced. The bar staff and servers were also really friendly. I recommend giving them a try!

   Lovely pub and food. Saw new staff getting trained out front and the manager was very kind and patient with them which was nice to see. Can't fault the manager, she was excellent, really professional and kind. Took the time out to check we was all okay and if we needed anything

   I hadn’t been here for around 3 years, but have recently visited and I wasn’t disappointed. The menu variety is really good, there’s something for everyone and I’m a picky eater. I particularly love the fact that they have the option of small plates, so you can have a smaller portion sized meal. I’ve ordered the jacket potato and the fish and chips from the small plates and left feeling full. The layout of the place is really nice, there are various sections you can choose to sit. It isn’t overly crowded in each section and the tables are spaced out, perfect if you hate crowded spaces.

   Love the place. Never had any issues with the food. Always correct orders, very good value for money, beautiful food and the staff are all wonderful. Nothing is ever to much for them. Always run off their feet and always friendly and make you feel welcome.

   Gorgeous food, sizzling pan was actually sizzling like most other restaurants. Food came really quick, excellent friendly staff Only 2 tiny problems - We weren't given a steak knife and only one set of cutlery between starters and mains, and there were lipstick marks on one of our glasses but we cleaned them with a napkin. Looked clean on inside but not outside. Was tempted to give a 4* just for that as those mouth marks could have been from someone with covid, but the food was soooo good
