A lot of beautiful dresses, shoes and underwears. So many range of items to choose from. The shop is big enough and I absolutely love the kids and men's session too. Great colours, affordable and looks durable.

NO FREE PARKING. signs everywhere says pay and display so I paid and went to the till to get my £1 car parking fee back after spending £56. Was told it was for charity and they wouldn't give me back my £1. Scammers, cover your signs that says £1 for up to 1 hour and £2 for 2 hours not the machines as the one i went to had the paper sign taped on ripped off. Staff said I should have read the sign and refused to give me back £1. Never coming back again. Will give my business somewhere else. Your loss for £1 parking. Absolutely atrocious.
Dear Matalan Customer Services, I am writing to formally raise a complaint about my recent experience at your Romford branch on the 24th of July between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. As I proceeded to pay for my items at the self-checkout, I was informed by a staff member that I could only use the self-checkout if I had a Matalan card. If not, I would need to join a long queue for the single manned till available. This was extremely frustrating, especially as I only had a few items and could have easily used the self-checkout. After querying this at other Matalan stores, I was informed that this is not a company-wide policy, and I was wrongly advised. I am appalled by the misinformation provided, particularly as I previously worked for Matalan for over a year and know that misleading customers in this way is unacceptable. While I understand the aim of encouraging Matalan card usage, this approach felt coercive and left a very poor impression. To avoid further delay, I ended up creating a Matalan account on the spot just to be able to check out my items. I would also like to raise concern about the lack of staffing. At that time, there was only one manned till open, with a visibly long queue forming. This added to the frustration of an already disappointing experience. Please ensure your staff are properly trained and do not mislead customers regarding store policies. The individual in question was a young white male. I hope to hear from you soon regarding the actions you will take to ensure this does not happen again. I will not be returning to the Romford store as a result of this experience.
Only one human cashier. Had to scan, de-hanger and bag items myself. Then when l got home noticed two items had alarm tags on, so l had to go back! No changing rooms to try things before purchasing. Non-sense! Damned inconvenience and when l ask for a Matalan card l'm told to download app despite there being physical ones instore! Suppose since the country's gone to the dogs - everything's going to 'pot'!
Manager called Mel and security are racist. They discriminated against us when we went in store. Your security and managers have no manners. Mel was standing eating a bag of crisps in-front of customers. When I complained to Mel she made no effort to solve the issue and was rude. She told me I shouldn’t have been walking around the store as the security asked to search my mums bag for NO REASON. Absolutely disgusting avoid avoid avoid I would not recommend DISGUSTING ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOUR FROM THEM BOTH! Mel made no attempt to solve my issue!!!
Nice shop, the price are good,high quality. I found the baby cloth the sizes are to big for some items and to small for others but really good quality. Around 5pm wasn't that busy,good to shop around.
I agree with Sergio. It was once a nice place to come and shop but not anymore. I'll mannered staff who praises their colleagues for being rude and condescending to an old age customer. This girl left me in the middle and went to another white British women because I was brown and women had kids. Yeh that's the defence she took and her white British colleague praised her for that when I raise objection on it. Well done.
