   We spend a fortune at matalans and george every year. As we are physically disabled yes physically disabled people still exist it takes a long time to walk around got a parking fine even with blue badge now we know we are not welcome we shall take our business elsewhere. Seems its not just the govt that wants to get rid of us

   i will remove this review before christmas....because the store has some good offers. its clean and tidy and has some quality items... yesterdays visit wasnt great. my purchase i usually use a counter. a woman upstairs told me if i hadnt got my card then i needed to put my email address in ....ok......it was a struggle as i didnt have my glasses with me. ......all the time. this lady was chatting to other customers....no help offered .....it wasnt that busy . but this member of staff played lip service and didnt really have any care to help ., but on leaving the store i was stopped by the security guard and had to show my reciept and bag looked at....how embarrasing. it had been scanned i had my receipt , how embarrassing ! all respect to the guard. very polite and doing his job......but added insult to injury . my point is......remind the lady upstairs shes there to help customers if needed.....not a chatterbox. or an ornament. :( theres plenty of people who would love a job like hers and be customer focused .....ps shes a nice lady .....but sorry . failed yesterday ( im an ex mystery shopper....nil points . sorry )

   It's Matalan good for clothes, shoes, suitcases and homeware. Currently exit escalator isn't working so you need to use the lift. Other than this all is as you would expect.

   I have shopped at Matalan previously and had no major issues or concerns. However, I would now be cautious and advise others to be wary of the level of customer service if you do have a problem. I bought a pair of jeans on 4th November 2022. They were a good fit and looked to be of reasonable quality. On 8th December, I went to put them on and found the seam at the rear had come apart. I have no idea how or when this happened. I do not do anything out of the ordinary while wearing them. I have worn them around 10 times, and they have been washed once. Unfortunately, I no longer have the receipt, as I believed they were ok, so threw it away. I returned them to the store for an exchange on 9th December. Once I had managed to find the only manned till in the store, for returns. I wasn't expecting any problem exchanging this, clearly faulty, garment, but I was mistaken. The person at the till, looked at the garment, asked when I bought them, and if I still had the receipt. I explained why I didn't have the receipt but told her when the purchase was made. With little consideration, she responded that this was normal wear and tear, and no exchange would be made. I asked her if she would be happy if she had bought a pair of jeans and they barely lasted a month. She didn't answer and just repeated her stance. I asked her if she was aware of the Consumer Rights Act, that says that goods should be of 'satisfactory quality'. She acknowledged said law but said it was irrelevant. I wasn't happy, so she said she would ask a manager. After a while, she returned and said the manager had confirmed what she had already stated. As I wasn't satisfied, she said she would call the manager. After another wait, another woman arrived. She briefly inspected the garment and, again, said it wouldn't be exchanged. I repeated that the garment was not fit for purpose, but to no avail. Their position was that this pair of jeans, which were sold faded, had been clearly worn excessively. I suggested they bring a new pair down to compare as they had been hardly worn. This 'manager' then said she had asked the manager, and they had said no exchange. I told them they were disregarding my rights under the Law, but they seemed to think this was a discretionary Law! I told them I would pursue the matter further and left as it was clear they were not bothered. Terrible customer service. AVOID

   Click & collect was due to take 1 week but didn’t arrive on time. Item was required for a function that evening but the shop staff couldn’t give me any further info on when it might arrive nor would they cancel the order. Instead told me I will have to wait ANOTHER two weeks for a refund.
