I've been coming here for a good few years now and it's been great though the prices are getting a bit higher which is understandable due to inflation. The people are very friendly and nice to talk too.

Nice coffee shop with plenty of tables including upstairs or in the rear courtyard for warmer days. Simple menu offering jacket potatoes, paninis or baguettes but good quality. Good coffee. It occupies a timber framed listed building at the bottom of the market square and was restored in 1981, opened by Princess Diana and won several conservation awards in subsequent years.

I nipped into here as I was attending an event in the town centre. I seldom visit the town so I was looking forward to nice coffee experience unfortunately I couldn't find it here. The girl serving me was curt and miserable, and never informed me of the 15 minute wait. She looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if they did takeaway coffee. Anyway I found out about the 15 minute wait when the rest of (and there was plenty) Colleagues starting shouting at customers that there was this wait. When mine arrived it was slammed infront of me, and it was the worst Oat Milk Latte I've ever paid for. Terrible service, terrible coffee, flat atmosphere. Shame really but I assume it is owned by the entitled so what can we really expect in Chesterfield?

Stopped in for some tea and a Bakewell tart. Courtyard is quiet and relaxing with a small fountain. Perfect way to escape the market and refresh for a bit. Friendly staff and good tart!

Visited today 1940s Market day, excellent day but spoilt slightly by a member of staff with terrible attitude, most of the staff were brilliant bar 1, who was very rude, really not suited to work in hospitality. She was older than the others with blonde hair in a pony tail, did not get name but have kept receipt. Nobody wants to experience hostility in a cafe, which should be a nice relaxing experience.

The upstairs seating area here is a fantastic place to go. Good coffee too. Go here, it's fantastic!

Ordered a pannini off the specials and a tea. 20 minutes later still no sign of the tea despite no other people coming in. Heard several comments from the staff during this time about 'why is no one serving?' 'Why is no one clearing tables?' My pannini arrived and despite costing over six pound I was lucky if it had half a mushroom, a tiny amount of greasy bacon and some cheese. Half of it had no filling at all. When I asked about my tea I was told it was sat on the side. Absolute waste of money and will not return. Next door is just as bad and really gone down hill

I paid Β£6.50 for a bacon and mushroom panini that was sadly lacking in a fillling. 2 thin slivers of cheese, 3 undercooked small pieces of streaky bacon, and 4 of the thinnest pieces of mushroom you could get. If you'd have paid Β£2.50 you'd have been pushing it. There was more if the panini showing empty than had a filling on it. Sadly it took so long g to come we had it wrapped to take home and put extra filling in it to make it edible. And the pot of tea that was ordered was just sat on the side for ages as there was no one to bring it to the table. Where has the quality gone from this place. Its sadly in a decline.

I had a nice experience here! The ladies behind the counter were polite. Me and my friend had paniniβs which came with a side of salad. I ordered a pot of tea with mine and all was tasting lovely. Only catch is the tight seating area! Overall a nice experience!

Have been many times but not since Covid. Visited 16th August for lunch. Wife ordered jacket potato which on arrival looked grey and unappetising and the cherry tomato was squidgy. My tuna and cheese panini contained little tuna compared with previous visits. Also I'm advised the toilet didn't have a seat. Disappointing and we won't be going back.
