Very poor service. The bald counter staff member refused to accept my Octopus free-drink voucher, claiming it was an issue with Octopus Energy. I later visited the Sheffield city centre branch and the voucher worked perfectly fine with no problems. Really disappointing experience here.
Stopped here for a mocha. The young trainee barista was lovely ! So friendly. The mocha was excellent so really pleased I stopped here. The atmosphere is pleasant and the music is great - a nice mix and not too loud.
Lovely coffee and nice peaceful atmosphere. The lady with the glasses and long red hair in a ponytail is wonderful. She always makes the most perfect coffees, is friendly and welcoming. The staff here all work very hard. I always look forward to coming here❤️
Nothing to complain about as I sit in here writing this review. The music is pleasant. It’s not overly noisy. The staff are buzzing around keeping things in order. The festive drink is tasty (albeit sticky) and big and came with vegan cream if desired - wow! There was water for extra hydration which I took advantage of gratefully having left my bottle in my wheels! The biggest downsize was the wait to be served I would say! Not ideal but not the longest of waits so am happy overall. Addition: I notice this bit of wall needs cleaning/painting.
Coffee was okay, kind of bland, tasted a bit burnt, machine is too hot or the coffee is getting ground too fine. Used two shots that were sitting on the machine since I walked in the cafe. They don't clean the portafilter heads properly betweens shots meaning the coffee is probably not being extracted evenly with clumps of old coffee stuck in it each time. Staff friendly though.
EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE BY ONE STAFF MEMBER - SHEFFIELD MEADOW HALL (SATURDAY 17TH DECEMBER 2022: 18:30) Me and my nine year old daughter were racially stereotyped here yesterday, We were asked to go the to back of the qué while the girl at the counter served a white couple before us, when I calmly confronted the worker she had no real reason to serve the other couple first and tried to worm it that they were there before us until I mentioned she go check the security camera, at which point she proceeded to serve this other couple regardless. When she eventually served us, I again asked why she had asked who was here first and when I mentioned me and my daughter, she still chose to ignore us, ( the white couple said please go before us which was very kind of them) but the worker would not serve us, when I thought about how we had been treated I raised it again calmly with her and I realised I was not imagining this awful situation, she eventually offered a fake false apology after I offered her the facts which she could not challenge. This will be one of the most disgusting experiences I have received in 41 years of life and I could see no reason other than our external skin colour, a real shame and I have said we will never go to another cafe Nero and yes I realise I am just one person but always keep your morals, ethics,values and principles regardless of how some ignorant people want to treat you. Should cafe Nero wish to investigate this please do so for your customers, so no other customer suffers at the hands of this young employee in the future. It's a shame because the hot chocolate, and the environment was excellent, it's a shame about the service.
I'm so sorry for having to write a negative review, and please note it's only based on the cleanliness of the place. There were only 2 or 3 empty tables, but all were filled (and I mean filled - it looked like other people had had to put dirty pots on it from their own table too before they could sit down). We sat at a low table with couch style seating, and the cushions and seat pads were absolutely filthy; underneath the seats and table was full of food a d rubbish. However, service/drink was good, but you could tell that they are seriously understaffed. The grubbiness of the seating areas though was appalling.
I love Nero but this one more than the others for one little reason. The woman who always remembers my order. I absolutely adore her! Even though I hadn't been in for a couple of months, when I turned up the other day her first words were, "your usual?". It made me glow. I wish I had the courage to ask her name. She always makes me day whenever she serves me, and BOY does she make good coffee. - coconut milk, extra shot :)
Not the tidiest or cleanest of cafe neros with used cups and trays left on the tables which we had to move ourselves and fingerprints and dirt on the windows but I think this is due to lack of staff members as there were only 2 members and they were rushed off their feet. Drinks were nice and there was lots of choice, would come back to this branch. It accepts O2 priority as well even though for some reason it wasn't on the O2 app for nearest location.
