   It is the 1st time (and the last) we had called in to this pub as it looked very nice! I can't believe you can go in a pub and be told you cannot use your mobile phone. It seems like one rule for one as I could see other people using there's. Apparently it is brewery rules what a load of rubbish!! How also can a pub not have a alcohol free option other than a dark ale?!? Nothing to promote no drink driving there! Definitely will not be returning

   Friends of ours recently moved to the area, so we went to visit them for an evening, and after reading about the pub online beforehand, I was a little on the fence as the place has some 'strict' rules. However, as soon as we entered, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, and the regulars were also lovely and chatty. It felt like a time warp (in a good way) of when pubs were pubs, and people mingled and just chatted and laughed. Something that feels lost these days. No riff raff, just good people, and good beer. Although I'm only 32, I gravitate to pubs with older punters, as they're not stuck to a phone all evening, and just want to socialise and be present. We all loved the place. It was cosy, warm, inviting, and best of all, extremely fairly priced! We will definitely be back the next time we visit!

   Excellent food and great choice. Suggest you book ahead. For the "top" meals they are between £25 and £30 each. I had a mixed fish dish which was excellent.

   The staff were polite on arrival, card payments are accepted which was great. No mobiles or swearing allowed which isn’t an issue. The atmosphere was relaxed, the pub was the typical classic pub decor with a real fireplace and a massive taxidermy pike. Large beer garden out back with loads of parking. Beer was lovely! Very nice :)

   It’s a Sam Smiths pub so no mobiles allowed. But if you can live with that then it’s quite a nice little pub. They have a separate games room which has pool and darts. Would go back if ever in the area. Friendly bar lady.

   Tried to give no stars. Stinks of sour beer. Web site lies about the food and atmosphere, which is toxic. Could not see any evidence of serving food yet pretty pictures on site. Drinkers from tap room had been let into the best room so very unfriendly. Avoid unless your need for alcohol is overwhelming.
