We come here because the coffee is tasty. However, we are disappointed with the service and cleanliness leaving us to clear our table by ourselves despite staff not being busy, standing and watching customers do their job. Staff are also very confused when we ask to pour coffee in a take away cup and charge us as drinking in as I want to drink a half coffee here-half take it with me. Some days they know what to do, other days they say I am not allowed....

Visited today my friend and myself both ordered Jacket Potato with Cheese and Beans costing £7 Each. When they were brought out there was very little cheese and a teaspoon of beans on each. We complained to the staff on the counter and after about 10 mins she brought out two small pots of Beans and said sorry ladies. Although we accepted this at the time as really didnt want to make a scene really both should have been taken away and dished up correctly with the correct amount of cheese and beans on them. Not sure whether new person in kitchen or not but they really need to be taught how to serve and present food.

When walking in at 3.10pm we were told the kitchen was closed . We walked out and continued to see ppl walk in we went back in . All we wanted was an ice cream …. There were tubs only . We went back in and decided to order coffee 1 piece of cake an ice cream and a cheese scone. When asked if they were fresh she said baked this morning ( they weren’t covered up) . We ordered one . This cost £18 we expected something nice , everything was “bog standard . They were turning customers away and didn’t actually close until 4pm . We then saw them throw the rest of the scones away !!!!

It’s been a while since we last visited here and it has become a shadow of its former self. Saturday morning and about 1/3 full. I ordered the eggs benedict and was thoroughly disappointed - let’s compare the menu description with the offering. Two poached eggs homemade hollandaise sauce on a toasted muffin with …. Home cooked ham. Poached eggs on Eggs Benedict are supposed to ooze egg (these were solid) - homemade hollandaise (that blob on side of muffin is hollandaise and that was entirety on plate) - toasted muffin (does that muffin look like it’s seen a toaster?) home cooked ham (actually that wasn’t bad). My wife’s full English had overdone eggs too. Only positive is the coffee is good. You might realise we won’t be back.

This cafe was once a really nice place to go with nice food , went there a couple of months ago,the food had gone downhill , went there again today , to give it another try , wish I hadn't, the girl behind the counter was extremely rude while I was placing my order , so decided not to go through with my order, absolutely no idea how to deal with paying customers , took me a while to find a clean table which all looked grubby and sticky , such a shame , need to train your staff or you may need to get Gordon Ramsay in before you go bankrupt.

We went for lunch, it wasn't very busy but you could see people about. I had a hot chicken sandwich and it was nice, abit dry but it comes with salad and coleslaw, overall it was nice, I could see some lovely homemade cakes on display just quite pricey for the portions served. Thank you

Lovely quality breakfast here. All nicely cooked and presented. Handy for shops as it’s in Marshals yard. Would definitely recommend

Had heard good things about it but was very disappointed with our breakfast. Sausage hard, black pudding undercooked and pot of beans cold. Whole breakfast lukewarm. Poached eggs not runny and toast overdone on one side.
