   I went there for my lunch with my daughter (been 7 month old) I ordered roast dinner with both meats and it was amazing, I had 2 yorkshire puddings, mash, roasties, 3 seasonal veg which were braised red cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli and carrots, this was finished off with a couple of slices of roast sirion and pan seared roast chicken. The meal was beautiful and they even did a teany tiny portion of sweet potato mash for my daughter. Nothing was too much trouble and 100% worth every penny spent on it

   Great place. Love the fact that it has an outside seating area in the town centre. Prices are very reasonable and they have lots of different events and acts to keep everyone entertained. The quiz night is great fun. Well worth a look

   Well what can I say……….. I went into the new Union looking for food, but they do not serve food anymore, manager was very friendly and greeted me with a smile, excellent customer service skills, since that day I have been in many times on different days and nights, the bar area is always clean and tidy, same as the toilets but the whole pub could do with being updated as it is looking tired, I have seen the manager trying to get customers in through Facebook and other social media outlets, but this can be difficult with the outdated decor and tired looking bar. Furniture is sparse and could do with being matching. To say this is a marstons pub the Calder and hop is the same brewery and is more upto date with a vibrant colour scheme.

   Coming in to the union has changed my life completely the manager is very welcoming and has brilliant customer service and will happily have a laugh and joke with you and get to know you the pub is very clean and the toilets are very tidy and smells great but the whole pub could do with a update as it's looking warn and tired the manger puts in some great performance with drag queens and karoke

   Kudos to the highly inclusive, atmosphere. Rainbow flags everywhere, so if you're not LGBTQ+ friendly, you're the exception to the 'all-welcome' rule! Unfortunately I can't give the same for the drinks on offer. Very 'generic' selection of lagers, a bitter, and 'the usual suspects' in the optics. That said, it was a fun place for a Hallowe'en party!

   Pleasant barstaff, clean toilets (gents at least) very little atmosphere, but it was lunchtime, evening may be different. Tetleys draught beer on form. Three stars for the lack of atmosphere. I'll go again on the way home from shopping for a quick pint
