“My wife and I visited here for lunch today. Brie and cranberry bagel (left out the bacon as I’m a vegetarian!) was very nice. My wife had the New York Classic - smoked salmon and cream cheese - she said it was also very nice. Many thanks for an enjoyable and relaxing lunch with jazz music in the background.”

“Excellent rock bar, one of a dying breed of pubs nowadays. Excellent live acts from local and further afield, rock/ metal bands. Well worth a visit if you are into this type of music. It's also one of the few remaining live music pubs in Wakefield.”

“Excellent quality food and fantastic service. All the meats were excellent and the staff kept bringing more. There’s a pleasant self-service salad/buffet bar too. It was basically empty on our afternoon visit so we got excellent personal service and everything cooked specifically for us. The minted lamb was my personal favourite. We will be back.”

“Amazing place with beautiful grounds housing tables, pods and enormous tented bar with great views. Choose whether you eat outside or inside. Awesome Sunday lunch with choice of meats and nut roast for the veggies. Choose a small or standard serving. Delicious apple crumble & custard to follow. Generous portions and reasonable prices in this current climate.”

“Popworld is such an amazing night out, the music ranges from older to newer hits. The bar staff were brilliant and helped me choose a drink based on what I was feeling, El and Kirsty were both very helpful and had smiles on their faces.”

“Been a local here for the past couple of months new owners absolutely fantastic, great atmosphere. Was a local before the new ownership and they have continued to set the bar high. Very welcoming towards new customers and regulars. highly recommend coming here if you fancy a quite drink or a drink to socialise, they have a good energy and are very polite and respectful towards anyone who walks through the door so yeah in a nutshell it’s a great pub and a great community.”

“Me and my wife had our engagement party here and all the bar staff were really friendly and the function room was plenty big enough for us, we had just over a hundred guests.”

“Service was very good, food was excellent and reasonably priced. Had a table for 2 on Saturday evening and had a really good time. Its been recently refurbished and they've done a great job of it. There's the bar area upstairs if you only want drinks or the restaurant downstairs if you're dining out, both refurbished to a high standard. Would definitely recommend paying a visit”

“My family and I recently had a fantastic experience at Valentinos. The restaurant manager, Carlos, was the consummate host, with a comprehensive command of the menu, and able to offer a brilliant recommendation. Our drinks waiter, Giorgio, was extremely attentive and interacted wonderfully with our children; and Ryan, who dealt with our food, treated us like royalty. A class act all round.”

“Love this place. Its turned into the go-to whenever I work in the area. All staff are great, rooms are so clean and presentable, and food in the pub is so lovely. Breakfast cooked to order and a really good dinner menu at excellent prices. Highly recommend it and will be back again.”

“Fabulous night out again, thanks to Chris and the team. This is Yorkshire's premier jazz club. Ok it might not be what you expect in terms of venue, as it is the Hockey Club Bar, but that does mean cheaper drinks! I have not eaten there, so can't comment, but food is available. The reason this is a premier jazz club is down to the quality of the acts they book, which are usually of an international standard, every Friday in the season”

“It's a nice place is this. I didn't have food but it looked nice and the aroma was appetising. The bar feels very modern, with all the arty stuff people like. Comfortable furnishings and atmosphere. Toilets are miles away, but there's plenty of old architecture to look at on the way (if you've not had too many lagers) Service was a bit impersonal for me, though the staff were nice enough. Great place...not exactly my type of venue, but it does it's job and is a great fixture on the Wakefield circuit.”

“Great spot for a bar. Some great places to eat at nearby. The bar lineup is class. Easily the best in Wakefield. Definitely recommend and you can get a loyalty card to get a free beer after filling the card with stamps.”
