This is the best pub in Yorkshire, the outside space is amazing as is the alpine Lodge that they've built. The staff are friendly, fast service and fair prices. The owner doesn't let any trouble makers in and therefore it's ideal for families, friends etc. This pub should win pub of the year.

Amazing place with beautiful grounds housing tables, pods and enormous tented bar with great views. Choose whether you eat outside or inside. Awesome Sunday lunch with choice of meats and nut roast for the veggies. Choose a small or standard serving. Delicious apple crumble & custard to follow. Generous portions and reasonable prices in this current climate.

Always wanted to try one of the famous platters at H&H. My friend got the ploughman's and I got the fish. Definitely worth getting. Have also tried the roast sandwiches, on a diffefent occasion which were really nice for a lighter option. Soft bread, extra gravy for dipping, with amazing home made chips. The sunday dinners are cracking too! However, book if you want to eat the sunday dinner on a plate, as they only offer a plate inside the pub, else where it's in a box, which isn't the end of the world, it just feels restrictive. I've been here numerous times and its a great pub with a great Scandinavian style lodge and one of the best beer gardens in the area for miles.

It's a pretty good pub. The food is tasty and varied. The waiters work quickly. Tables are clean, which of course is important. I ordered 2 glasses of wine and they turned out to be in streaks and on one glass there was something frozen, apparently some residue of old food. Maybe the dishwasher didn't clean the glass completely. It was unpleasant, of course. I had to drink the wine through a straw. Overall the atmosphere was good but it was VERY hot. There were a lot of people in the pub and there were no seats on the terrace outside, so we had to sit inside. I ordered 2 dishes but I had to go outside 3 times to cool down as I was very hot. I'd say it's pretty uncomfortable eating and sweating. It's a minus. The windows in the room only open half way and that is only the top small windows. Air conditioning as well, there's no air conditioning here. In general, I would give 4 stars with a stretch. But the food is good. I had lasagne and mix salad. The salad was good, but the dressing was incomprehensible, but the lasagne was good. My wife had the same salad and kebab, which was also quite tasty. A friend had a burger which was very juicy and tasty. In general, I could recommend this place but if you will be relaxing with a company or if there are a lot of people inside the pub, it is better to sit on the big terrace where there is VERY much space. You will be comfortable there. I ended up spending about £60 for 4 courses with 2 blkals of wine. I wouldn't say that's a lot considering the pleasant flavour of the food.

Brilliant atmosphere here. Perfect location for enjoying sunny days. Amazing food and friendly service. Well organised at busy times. Lots of seats available in different options (sofas in the marquee or bench tables outside. Even have pods available for a deposit which includes table service. They think of everything.
