Yesterday me and my friend had a Christmas meal in the conservatory at the Royalty. Food was really nice. Good portion size and great quality. There were lovely views. The staff were friendly, service was good even though it was busy. Well behaved dogs are allowed in the taproom. It's a nice place to stop off after a dog walk on Otley Chevin.

Table for 4 people booked for 12.30. On arrival we were asked if anyone had any allergies. I said yes, to cheese. We ordered very quickly and after an hour asked if our food would be long. We were told 5 minutes. 15 minutes later our food arrived. My cottage pie was smothered in cheese! I sent it back, asked how long another would take without the cheese. Was told they were very busy so it could be a while. I said not to bother and was offered a bowl of chips. I ate half of them. When the bill arrived my sister, who was treating us for an anniversary, said she wasn't happy that the chips (£4.50) were on the bill but the chef said that as I'd eaten some, they had to go on the bill. An anniversary meal ruined! No apologies were offered. All I can say is that the young, new to the job waitress, was lovely.

Booked a table for 12.30 for 4 of us. When we arrived , there were just 2 people in the restaurant. We were asked if we had any allergies which my sister said she was allergic to cheese. 3 of us ordered cottage pie and my husband ordered pie and peas with mint sauce. After an hour waiting for our food I asked when we would be served and was told they were just plating it up. 10 minutes later, I asked again and were told again they were just plating it up. Shortly after that. It finally arrived. To our dismay, there was no mint sauce because they didn't have any but worst of all, the cottage pies were smothered in cheese. There was no indication on the menu that this was the case and obviously, no notice was taken of my sisters allergies. They said they would make another without cheese but there was a long wait so she ended up with a portion of chips. When the bill came it was well over one hundred pounds so I asked if they could knock £4.50 for the price of the chips because we had such a long wait for food which we weren't informed about, plus there mistake for not taking any notice of my sisters allergy. The waitress went to the kitchen to ask but we were told no because some of the chips had been eaten. There were no apologies for anything at all. Just beware, if you have any allergies. they may not take any notice.

Called in after out walking. We ordered food and the girl who took our order was lovely and friendly. The food was fantastic. I had a hot beef & gravy sandwich with chunky hops and homemade coleslaw. My husband had the pulled pork with fries and coleslaw. Both were piping hot and very tasty. Will definitely be returning to try other dishes

Weekday lunch after a 7m walk. The bar staff rearranged the table so we had more room and booked us into the tap room as we had a dog (I mistakenly booked the restaurant). Easy online booking, good menu choice and all the food was delicious and decently cooked. We were informed that the food would take about 25m which it did. Easily recommended. Great views across Otley Chevin

A very disappointing Sunday roast. Wet roast potatoes, pre-cooked and sliced pork, undercooked vegetables, tasteless Yorkshire Puddings and watery packet gravy and jar apple sauce. Had I known I was going to have a meal of such poor quality I would have stayed at home and cooked lunch myself. I expect to go out for lunch and receive a better quality of food than I can produce.

Warm friendly pub with good food and drinks. Went for a walk around the area so we stopped off for something to eat and drink here. Well worth it. Definitely going again

We came as a family of 7, 3 of us got there around 15 minutes early, we were told our table wasn't ready. We were directed to the bar to buy a drink while we waited. I went to the bar where there was a young waitress with dark hair messing around on the till. After a couple of minutes she told me someone would be with me soon. I could see 2 young men at the other side of the bar stood chatting.. I waited and waited, this young women then told the people behinglld me that they could pay their bill and brought them in front of me.eventually a man came to serve me, by which time our table was ready. We waited a while before our order was taken and then about 40 minutes for our food. With 2 young children this wasn't ideal. I had burger which was average, the burger was quite dry. Someone else had salmon which was nice but the rosti it came with wasn't very nice everyone else said their food was quite nice. We definitely won't be rushing back though

Its a nice place in a nice area. Can feel cold though especially near winter. The staff are nice too. The food however was bland. Just lacked taste. Had a couple of meals there but it lacks texture and has no kick to it. Just a watery taste
