Would not recommend US Direct Prestwich for a hand scan (or feet scan). The equipment is not of good enough standard. The probe used was of a very low frequency (ideal for looking at deep structures- not superficial). I attended as I was desperate for a written report I could provide to my GP to help my case and I put my trust in this centre. I working in medical imaging myself so when I saw the quality of the first scan I asked for a refund- I got this for the hand I did not want scanning. I still paid for the first. I said my worry was arthritis and she said 'I wouldn't have done a scan for arthritis' - I had rang that morning to explain the purpose of the scan and the receptionist rang me back before I booked to confirm the sonographer could do this and booked me a double slot to look at both hands. When I expressed my concerns she did refund me for the second hand. I lost my deposit for both, as well as the cost of the useless scan. I asked why she didn't have a hockey stick probe, or even high frequency probe and she said 'did you ask for one?'. I irony is I did ask for one, but an unsuspecting member of the public would not have. She also gave a lot of false reassurance throughout the scan which could be quite dangerous again to an unsuspecting member of the public who may decide that actually everything is okay if this health professional is saying it looks good, when for me everything was not okay. She also advised MRI as her findings were very non-specific but ultrasound should be just as good at examining the joints and tendons in the hands. I have emailed the manager of the site explaining that I do not think they should offer this scan with this equipment but this has been ignored both times with the response of 'the report outlines the findings'. The report did not provide any interpretation and was so descriptive my GP could not interpret it. This scan and report did not help my case at all, wasted my time and caused me a lot of stress in the way it has been handled since. I recommend Spire/ One Health ect instead, they are more expensive but properly equipped.
Undergoing IVF in Spain and they needed to check follicle count to proceed with stimulation. I was already nervous and feeling apprehensive, as soon as I went Samina was extremely dismissive and rude. She was incredibly condescending asking if I’ve not had scans before when I told her I’m feeling apprehensive. She lacked customer care skills and just wanted it over with. I was getting changed at the end, she gave me no tissue to take the gel off and then went to complain to her manager as I called her out on her rude attitude. The door was wide open, I wear a headscarf and there was a male on reception and I was half dressed. Complained to her manager who kept defending her and said it’s not their fault they couldn’t locate the left ovary. I was upset and instead of giving empathy, the manager was equally dismissive and told me to stop ‘shouting’ when I wasn’t and then told me she’s going to ring other customers to see if they had the same experience, invalidating my feelings. I was offered zero apology, just that they’ll re-take the scan and I’m not to ask the sonographer for anything further like I’m going to ‘manipulate the findings.’ Avoid this place unless you want to go for a humiliation ritual, completely ruined my evening.
If you want your money not get wasted dont go any branches of this company.they got money off me in prestwich branch but they didnt do my overian scan and they didnt refund me.worst customer service ever.i asked if i can do it another day as i paid for it they said NO!!!!!!!!! They were so racist.they verbaly abused me.they told me your accent is funny and diffrent.i called 2 times for help and get more information for my dad.the women from stretford branch said why u call 2 times.u only need to call one time!!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
