The Eagle & Child is probably the best pub in Doncaster.... called in on a Saturday afternoon to be met with a lovely warm atmosphere...there were 3 real ales.... I sampled 2 and they were lovely...we purchased an array of sandwiches and chips and they were REALLY nice.... credit to the kitchen staff.... talking of staff... these are premier league !! if you are in the area and fancy a pint or something to eat.... this place is a must !!

First time visiting. My partner is in a wheelchair and to be honest access to the dining area was difficult BUT both fellow visitors and staff went the extra mile to help us to our pre-booked table. Service was exemplary (thank you Louise et al). Food was excellent and without compare in a very wide surrounding area. We were provided with a "doggy bag" to take home - we Brits are reticent to ask for such things, but staff were more than obliging. The one and only complaint - nay comment - is that we do not carry cash and so we were unable to leave a much-deserved gratuity. Thank you to the Patron, chef and staff - we were made most welcome and thoroughly enjoyed a first visit.

Friendly and attentive staff. Good main courses. Didn't try the desserts or starters.

Food was absolutely amazing! The service was great! The only thing was both toilets had been mopped but there were no floor cones and I nearly slipped over in the cubicle. Spent £50 on one starter, 2 mains, a pint, half a pint and a pint of coke

Can't fault it, good environment. Nice and clean. Proper big horse shoe gammon. Great fresh fat homemade chips. The pint has a lovely head on it. Smoking area is decent. Book in advance. Gets busy..

Pretty decent pub! It's got rotational beers on and there's usually something decent on those. I haven't seen the "fancy" craft beers I normally enjoy but it has a good selection. It also accommodates for those who drink "normal" beer/lagers and there's generally something that everyone can enjoy. Quite a cozy atmosphere!

The food here is always freshly cooked . Always served within a good time from ordering and always tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful and can't do enough for you. The guiness is also the best I've had outside of Dublin. This alone gets 5 stars.

Eagle and Child in Auckley is a nice pub mainly serving good quality food. Plenty of selection from the menu and daily specials on the boards inside. It's not you usual pub grub, more a restaurant inside a pub. Booking a reservation is recommended during peak times. The decor is old world style, clean and comfortable. Staff are pleasant  polite and smart in appearance. On my visit I ordered the Eagle Grill at under £20 requesting the steak to be cooked medium. It arrived in around 20mins, steak, chicken, gammon and sausages were all cooked to perfection. Condiments brought to the table came in individual pots which could be a concern for the eco friendly due to the waste if unused and extra cleaning required, although individual pre packages could make the venue appear more cafe than quality. WiFi is available but you need to ask for the password, you will need this. I'm not sure if the area is a poor quality reception or because the walls to the pub are so thick it causes a signal problem. It's close to Doncaster Airport and the wildlife park and the neighbouring village Austerfield which was home to some of the original settlers of America who travelled on the Mayflower. If this review was informative enough for you give it a thumbs up for others.

Left this meal, very poor quality, pastry soggy - probably micro-waved, garden peas over cooked, comes with peas but duplicated on extra vegetable side dish, chips tasteless, looks like a TV diner. I remember when the pastry was thick & tasty, the side dish was broccoli, cauliflower, snow peas & carrots. Another pub crossed off the list, others were enjoying there meals. I cannot fathom it, not for me!
