Wow. It's like walking back into 1970, for a good reason. All electronics are banned (phones, iPads etc). It's all about good conversation and pub games like darts and pool. Beer prices are reminiscent of 1970 as well. The pricey Extra Stout is £2.30 a pint. Wow. What a find.
It used to be a good place for a cheap pint. The people/ locals are friendly and the service is always great. However, The brewery decided to install signage preventing use of mobile phones, laptops and electronic devices that can cause a nuisance to create more of a "traditional conversation" pub. Disregard for this rule can result in a banning order from the premises. My opinion and many others like it believe this is designed for a niche market of clientele in 2019. With no TV or entertainment on offer. Its ultimately destroyed any atmosphere that remained.
Friendly welcome, by staff and customers. Taddy Ale also complimented the place. Absolutely great night out with real genuine down to earth people. Our now local!!

A fine establishment. Welcomed by a log fire and classic/vintage brown decor reminiscent of the 60s. I would go as far to say it was all original, a rare find in today's age, kept well. Light brown carpets with a lighter brown tinge to the walls. All the tables and chairs were a befitting brown to compliment the darker browns of the woodwork. The curtains were a Hessian brown to match the carpets. I loved it. I was welcomed by a young chap who knew his beers. I ordered half a "dark brown" ale at a comfortable 2.8% abv. I am a big fan of my browns and this one was nothing special in particular, but it was just right. A vintage brown establishment with excellent brown ales. A connoisseurs choice.
