Lovely sunday roast, and meat n potato pie served in a welcoming community pub. Make sure to leave some room for a dessert, 'cause wow! Mmm was hard to pick a favourite between the plum cobbler or the sorbet (esp the mandarin one). Looking forward to visiting again.
We recently held a first birthday party in the garden area of the pub and had a fantastic time. We had 40 attendees and everyone commented on what a great time was had, the second bar in the covered area and barbecue were perfect and exactly what we’d hoped for - for our daughters first birthday, would highly recommend to anybody considering a function.
Dropped in for lunch today and was greeted by super friendly staff , such a warm and relaxing atmosphere. I had the steak pie with mash and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was, packed with tender steak and bursting with flavour. Couldn’t resist dessert and went for the fruit crumble with custard… absolutely unbelievable! I’m not local, otherwise I’d be back on a regular basis. Thanks for the warm welcome , keep up the amazing service and top quality food!
The travellers rest is a pub we have driven past many times and finally visited with some friends. It always seemed busy on bright afternoons and evenings which makes sense with the great views of Derbyshire. This is a traditional pub with a menu and atmosphere to match. The service was friendly and quite prompt throughout our stay, even though it was a busy sunny Sunday afternoon. My wife and I both ordered soup and then shared a cheese board. All of the food was very filling and great value for money. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're passing especially if the weather is good.

Got there and a group were playing folk music, lovely happy atmosphere, staff happy, pleasant, food was delicious. Highly recommend here, will call again.
