I had a really good experience at this hospital, all the staff are very lovely especially julliet. She is so loving and caring she’s my favourite nurse she made sure I’m well looked after. The food is nice so overall everything is great. Many thanks to Stuart the manager, he helped me a lot. I want to thank Dr. Anwar for helping me. She’s very lovely.

I was an inpatient on sheridan ward for 4 weeks and was discharged yesterday, with around 5 minutes notice, no discharge plan, no medication, no follow-ups, no discharge letter, and no notice. I am autistic and cope better when i have a clear plan. This was at 5pm on a bank holiday weekend. I had been sectioned so had not been out on my own for weeks, and also had no way of getting home as I was miles away from home. I was so overwhelmed and was not feeling well so ended up attempting to end my life. Thankfully a passer by helped me and the police attended and took me to another hospital, where I was treated and got the help I needed. The police said they were going to look into how I was treated on Sheridan ward and why I was discharged with no support/ plan. My only diagnoses are autism and ADHD and I feel the ward need more training and understanding around neurodiversity. They claim they didnt know I was autistic until I had been on the ward for over a week. I was given a lot of false promises about support that was going to be put in place, mainly by my named nurse/ ward manager, Sophie. There was no plan on discharge, meaning no support. This left me feeling low and hopeless. As I was discharged at 5pm on a bank holiday weekend, I was limited in who I could contact myself, despite feeling in crisis. I saw the consultant (dr Anwar) twice during my 4 week admission, despiye being told id see her weekly. the second time being a conversation about my personal circumstances in the corridor, which wasn't fair as there were other patients present listening to the conversation, which should have been private. Everytime I was due to see the Dr I was told she was too busy and there wasn't time. I was told the Dr would be changing my medication and i was keen for this, but that never happened. I was discharged with no medication (despite being on regular medication for my physical and mental health) and that meant I was off my medication for a week until I could get it from my gp. NHS 111 couldn't prescribe all of my medication as they couldn't access my hospital records to confirm what I was prescribed. They also wrote the wrong medication dosage on the letter they sent to my GP causing further delays in getting my medication as my GP knew the dosage was wrong but could only prescribe what was on the letter. Stopping my medication suddenly made me feel unwell both physically and mentally. I was assaulted by staff whilst on the ward (slapped in the face) and i was also assaulted by another patient which was never recorded. On one day I wasn't given my correct medication and when I tried to question this with the nurse (Abby), she refused to check. The Matron (Kathy) was not interested when I raised my concerns and called me names and was derogatory towards me throughout my admission. Kathy was unprofessional and should not be allowed to speak to patients the way she does. The ward is very quick to use restrictive approaches, such as physical restraint and I was left covered in bruises from this. I must say that some of the HCA's are lovely though and do genuinely care and really helped during my admission. The Occupational Therapy team are good too.

Had to report staff multiple times to management. I come here to get better they simply don't do the jobs they are paid to do. Under staffed. Don't take patients out for fresh air enough. Already reported to CQC who need to visit the ward now. Needs improving immediately. Ward is too warm because of the heating. Too many bank staff and confusing remembering each one.. I've witnessed bad practices for years aswel.

Awful cannot believe what I've just went through. I came in thinking I was having a medication review with my Bipolar and OCD. Instead I got called into a room with man who from the let go questioned my Diagnosis of Bipolar he didn't have or know anything about me no pc with my info or even paperwork. I knew more about Bipolar and rapid cycling then he did I need to be on a mood stabilizer my more then just anti-psychotics this person didn't know the difference. I honestly can't believe it what just happened. So disgusting. No wonder so many end there own life's with people like this man in our NHS!
