I had a shoulder operation at the Oaklands hospital in Salford in April this year. From my initial consultation with Mr Roy I felt at ease under his care. He explained everything thoroughly to me and I felt confident about his skills and the operation. I was really well looked after before during and after my op by Mr Roy and his team. My physio with Owen was fantastic, and he helped get my shoulder working great again and no pain anymore. My follow ups with Paul also great and again everything was explained thoroughly, and my movement checked every appointment. A big thankyou to Mr Roy and his team, and Owen and Paul for giving me a fully working shoulder with no pain. 11 out of 10 - Kim Hibbert.

I recently underwent a bilateral hernia repair operation at this hospital, and it has been a very positive experience. All staff—from the surgical team and nurses to the catering and reception staff—were exceptionally kind and attentive throughout my one-day stay. The room was very clean, and the quality of the meals was good. Even the after-care service on the phone was kind and efficient. I would highly recommend this hospital.

I am under the care of Dr Robinson Gastrology. He is amazing! Such a caring, professional and friendly consultant. I had an endoscopy earlier this week and I was so nervous. He was so kind to me. A big shout out to all of the other staff especially the nurses who looked after me. Thank you for everything.

I recently had a two night stay here after undergoing surgery. Starting with parking it’s free but very small so it can be hard to find a space but you don’t have to go far to park on side streets etc. I got taken to my room which was immaculate, everything was spotless, I have attached photos, I’d say looking at some other rooms I had a smaller one but it was nice and cosy and exactly what I needed :) The staff there are brilliant, I was under Bilal Alkhaffaf and his team, the theatres lady’s there helping especially Kate really put my mind at ease and I was super comfortable going in for the procedure! Come around I was abit rough but all the staff were super friendly and were super patient with me, nothing was ever to much! I was looked after a lot by Aileen Benig who must be the most caring person ever, again nothing was ever to much, she was so kind and calming and reassured me everytime, everytime the buzzer was pressed no matter what time of the day they come and seen me swiftly! The catering staff were also very very friendly! I had a fantastic stay under the circumstances and I wouldn’t hesitate to have any other surgery here again.

Update: I contacted the email address that is suggested in all the review responses and all they did was give me a time series of events, not addressing any of the issues at all. Response via email was consistent with the poor service experienced when calling/attending the hospital. Steer clear if possible. Hands down the worst private hospital experience I’ve ever had. Referred by private doctor for an mri, yet oaklands couldn’t see me for weeks. Process was delayed because it turned out I also needed an X-ray. The issue was not only the time I had to wait for the appointment, but they say it can take 3 weeks to get results. The 3 appointments I had with them they were all late. Today my appointment was at 6:30 and was still waiting at 7:00. It’s difficult to get through to them on the phone, and the different departments clearly don’t talk to each other. I was going to cancel and go with another hospital due to the long quoted results times but they called and ensured me my results would be sent in a week, on the way out from the scan they advised it would be three weeks. The person on the phone clearly lied to make sure I didn’t go elsewhere. They advised they normally have a mirror so it doesn’t feel too tight in the machine, but they couldn’t find it..

Had a total knee replacement on the 1st December 2022. The staff from the top to the bottom were absolutely fantastic. Nothing was to much trouble and they were totally professional. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.

Post op 1/2/23 Gall bladder removal. Lovely experience! As an NHS patient referred here the staff from housekeeper, nurse, band 2/3 and surgical team were amazing. However my post op nurse was not very sympathetic or bothered I was post op and in pain and made my feel like I was lying about my pain! The band 2 or 3 gentleman comforted me while I think my nurse was eating crisp while I was crying! Anyway back to the positives! Lovely private clean room, caring staff and I was kept informed of what was happening around me. Thank you

Ive had the best nursing team ever. Especially the aftercare. Ive got a lot of immunity problems with my blood , therefore my knee wound would not heal. The operation has made my mobility 90% better . Ive seen and been in the hospital 3 times a week, the nursing staff are amazing and the surgeon whom has been consistent in my aftercare, thankfully my wound is healing now after my diagnosis, and meds from my GP thats helped. Gonna miss these guys when im healed. Oaklands staff and reception team. Support team and everyone that works there. Well done xxx

Most incompetent hospital possible. Cancelled my knee surgery on the day and at the very last minute, even after thorough pre-op testing and questioning, sign off from physio, consultant and anaesthetist that morning. Sat in my gown, about to go to surgery the anaesthetist changed his mind and insists I see a heart consultant first. My Dad has a heart condition, which I don’t have and had produced a letter saying so. I have no history of cardiac disease and had a also had tests to check this when they screened for the gene which I didn’t possess. All this, including my thyroid condition and raised bmi was discussed at pre-op and signed off. The day after my op was cancelled I received a phone call asking me to come in the next day for surgery. I was excited as I assumed they’d rectified the non existent problem. Nope, they’d mistakenly rang the wrong list of people to advise of surgery, of which I was at the top of the list. They promised to do an urgent cardiac referral, which never happened, and now conveniently have no record of why the operation was cancelled. Informed my GP who over a year later haven’t been informed of any of this. Received a letter yesterday asking me to forward their request to my GP (as apparently I’m not on record at the GP they sent my letter to) for why I’d be chasing a cardiac referral as they have no record of this. Attached to the letter was a compliment slip for the GP they sent the letter to - which was not my GP - even though my GP’s address is on the top of the letter! Sheer incompetence.
