   First visit to this refurbished, out of the way pub. Parking at the rear. The ‘Wow’ factor was waiting for us as we entered. Bright and fresh but warm and friendly. The fire crackling away just added that little extra on a cold, wet afternoon. A lot of seating, with even more seating, set for diners, just away from the bar area. Owned by a local brewery giving a good selection of drinks. Service could not have been friendly and the food was enjoyed by us all. There is an outdoor seating/dining area for about thirty plus people. This pub is going to be amazing over the Christmas period as it finds its feet and goes into the new year. Recommend

   Beautifully refurbished. The aroma of new wood as you enter was intoxicating. We were served promptly by a great host who was attentive throughout and couldn't do enough for us. The food was good as were the liqueur coffees we had after our meal. Although they needed to be hotter. All in all, great. We'll be back.

   A pub with a country feel & only a 5 minute drive from Hillsborough. After an extensive renovation the pub is light & airy. It has a selection of Bradfield brewery ales. The Sunday roast dinner is delicious & i also highly recommend the garlic mushroom starter. There were a few niggles, but nothing that wasn't quickly put right. The table was in need of a wipe because of sticky rings from previous customers. The teapot for the tea for two held 1 1/2 cups of luke warm tea. ( the pot was refilled on request. ) The tea cups were replaced after we made the staff aware of them being improperly washed ( tea rings / staining. ) but that sometimes happens when using a dishwasher. But like I said, these are just niggles that were rectified quickly by the friendly & helpful staff. The pub was quite loud / echoey even though it wasn't overly busy. ( probably caused by the tiled floor that runs throughout the pub .) All in all, The Wharncliffe Arms is worth a visit. We will definitely be back.

   Wow, so glad this place opened back up. We are a stones throw away on the old paper mill site and I’m so glad this is our new local. It’s by far the best in the area, the food is outstanding as is the service and atmosphere. Cannot recommend it enough

   Fantastic renovation and fabulous all round . Staff attentive, food fabulous and very reasonable . We had the chicken burger and fish Goujon sandwich with hand cut chips . Very well presented and tasted just as good. Many thanks for an excellent visit. Wishing the whole team a fabulous journey
