Very friendly staff. Loads of space to park. They’ve got a new Chef and a new menu. The food was excellent. Highly recommend the pork belly, the fish and chips looked fantastic. Nice big portions too. Will definitely be going back.
Apart from drinks we sat outside and ordered 3 portions of chips there was a half an hour wait with was fine, an hour later went in and asked how long it would be they said not long we have had electric issues then my friend goes in asked the same question 15 minutes later come out with the chips in soup bowls and for £4 for a portion of chips there wasn’t even 10 chips. I put the bowls back on the bar n asked if that was a normal bowl of chips which they replied yes but when u look around there was more on a plate then our three bowls. Over all if there was an issue I would rather have been advised of this rather than having to go ask an hour later
Perfect place for a cosy, proper pub trip. We went for Sunday lunch, the food was fantastic, the team looked after us so well, and they are very dog friendly. Booking recommended to grab a window table with the view!
I'm a regular - just seen the post below and although the pub was a bit chilly a month or so ago while they got the heating sorted, it's been warm since. I went on Monday for the Sheffield Carols, what an atmosphere! The staff were great at sorting all of the hungry and thirsty singers out. It was well stocked. Even if you don't want a full meal, try one of the home made bar snacks - the sausage rolls are amazing.
We regularly enjoy a great value, great tasting Sunday lunch at the Sportsman pub, Lodge Moor. It's a carvery and there is plenty of choice. The food is delicious and service is great, with a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. We walk up with our two dogs and it's dog friendly. Great pub, recommend it for a Sunday lunch.
A visit to this pub is a total must ... dog friendly ... food is to die for .. freshly cooked and we enjoyed every mouthful . Definitely coming again for sure !!
We found the Sportsman for lunch today- we sat outside with the lovely views as we took our dog with us. We both had a very hearty beef lasagne, salad and chips - all homemade and delicious. The staff were all friendly and prompt with serving our meal and clearing away - our dog was even given a treat - would recommend
We often visit the sportsman. Always a friendly greeting from the staff, and the carvery on Sunday is absolutely spot on. A great spot to have a pint outside in warmer weather too, with amazing views. One of Sheffields finest pubs, and I should know, as I've been to most of them....
Absolute gem of a pub, warm welcome from all the staff, they are all so friendly. Food is amazing all home cooked, the Sunday carvery is the best by far! Definitely worth a visit, highly recommended!
