It is a lovely pub nice food but what was the red cabbage it tasted like perfume. There was 4 in our group and not one of us liked it. I say keep it of the plates and let us choose if we want it on our plates. Other wise it's a beautiful place to eat staff we're very nice.

Beautiful country pub with a great atmosphere. I didn't try the food but it looked and smelled good. They have really great local bands on from time to time so look out for them a great night out. Support your local and support live music. What's not to like.

Spent a couple of hours today with my amazing wife over a Sunday Roast, in my case a Trio of Roasts. The food was delicious, service excellent and atmosphere buzzing with chatter. Thank you to Rory and Sarah.

Brilliant village pub with a fascinating connection to the past. Good selection of beers and friendly staff. Plenty of seating inside and to the frontage outside. The original building has flagstone floors, even incorporating part of a headstone from the church graveyards next door. Sunday roast was one of the best.

Visited on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Just had a drink. Seemed a nice pub in a nice village. Loved the bit of history on the sign outside too.

Love visiting the Crispin when we’re up in Ashover. Always looks lovey ant Christmas too. As per, we were given a very warm welcome. We had a fab Sunday lunch, which I can be pretty wary of eating Sunday lunches out and about (usually meatbcan be grey and overcooked and veg raw etc)but this was delicious. Meat was perfectly cooked and the meal plentiful. We had a little one with us too, who was catered for brilliantly. Looking forward to my next visit. Only thing I was upset about was the fact the brewery won’t allow customers to add a tip when paying by card. Loads of places can do this, so not sure what the excuse could be. The brewery need to sort that out, as no one really carry’s cash any more. I wanted to leave a tip as the staff were grand and we had a lovely evening.

Very expensive. Charged Β£3.80 for a soda water and cordial and when queried they told me their prices have gone up from the brewery and that they are trying to bring them down. Best stick with the Poets down the road, or Black Swan, only Β£1.20 there.
