Dr Sharma is extremely caring and thoughtful in his assessment, the slot was booked for 60/90 minutes but we went well past that and didnt feel rushed. He covered many areas in great detail and listened intently to my Sons answers. We are only on our first steps post diagnosis but Dr Sharma has filled us with confidence for the upcoming treatment.

The ADHD centre in Manchester have really transformed my life in many positive ways. Dr Sharma is a wonderful guy who really actually cares about what he does and genuinely is there to help you. We tried all the different meds available for helping me manage my ADHD diagnosis which was complicated with an under active thyroid causing similar symptoms. I honestly don’t know if I would be here if I hadn’t engaged with Dr Sharma and his team at the ADHD centre. Thanks to Chloe for dealing with all admin and replying very quickly to deal with my problems. Thanks guys. Can’t recommend this place enough. No judgment, just genuine help. Thankyou. Dan lowndes.

Update: The "reach out" referred to is yet another Cat and Mouse game by this 'organisation'. I was advised we could change the Consultant after this review aired - translation "you can, but we will have to charge you for that". I was told that both myself and my Son would be supported - translation " You will have to pay for the services of an ADHD Coach for your Son" I was assured time and time again that they were going to "make good" but this did not happen. What happens is this... You write a review, they set about damage limitation and offer the Earth, Moon and Stars. Their promises are empty, their assurances meaningless and their attempts at apologies are nothing more than platitudes. In the whole process, there was only Gisele who strived really hard to help but the action required was out of her remit; but I appreciated her efforts none the less. In the final analysis, what really happened is the ADHD Centre saw thousands of pounds worth of business walking away; and they thought they would just chase us down the road to try and recoup it. Do yourself and your loved ones a favour and steer clear. Don't forget, you are bound to these people for at least 6 months for their titration process; and at £225 per time (every 3-4 weeks not including meds); it's a pretty penny to pay for such inadequate, inept and pathetic provision. Original review below We paid £1800 for what we thought was a professional service and having read reviews and completed due diligence; we proceeded with the 1 face to face and o e Temas call assessment. We filled in all of the necessary paperwork from the ASRS V1.1, PHQ-9, GAD-7 and Collateral Information provided by Parents and Partner. In the assessments which we scheduled for an hour, all paperwork was confirmed and there were a couple of additional psychometric screens including the DIVA form which is more specific. What can I say we received from the ADHD Service Manchester? Inaccurate and inadequate records of information including data which is a matter of record (not subject to interpretation), resulting in numerous amendments; poor communication and we were made to feel like a nuisance! Despite our confirmation of the Consultant Psychiatrists involved being qualified in ADHD assessment and diagnosis AND listed on the 'Special Register' ; this establishment is simply a money-making organisation and should have been listed alongside the others in the Panorama documentary ADHD clinics exposed. Thoroughly wish we had gone else where for assessment as my Partner has also been diagnosed and his experience polar opposite despite a reduction in cost. It goes to show that quality cannot be guaranteed or assured with higher associated costs for service provision. As a Therapist myself, this has left much to be desired from professionals who purport to possess empathy. Even more so when we have requested to have our details removed from their system on multiple occasions; yet we still receive emails pertaining to their support group. If you are looking for ADHD diagnosis and assessment, you would be well advised to look elsewhere!

After realising I couldn't rely on the NHS to get the help I needed, I turned to private options and went with The ADHD Centre due to their professionalism and GMC-registered psychiatrists. I so far have had my full ADHD diagnosis (face-to-face) and 2 follow up appointments (zoom call). I am in the middle of my titration period with Elvanse, which is improving my symptoms. I'm also receiving proper aftercare and follow-ups which keep me on the right track. Dr Ankur Kumar is professional, patient, a good listener and cares about the well being of his patients. I was able to fully explain my situation / health journey of trying to figure out what has been wrong all of these years, as well as share documents with him from when I was a child. He took all of this information in when he carefully evaluated me, and did not rush this delicate process. It is expensive, especially when you factor in the cost of follow ups while you are going through titration. However, whenever I have had silly questions about things, I get quick responses with the answers. The pharmacy which provide the medication respond instantly, and give you options for delivery. Overall, you pay up because everything is done properly, with care for the patients, a desire to help them get on in life, seamless communication and access to healthcare professionals without broken NHS waiting times. Most importantly of all, you can't put a price on the high probability of getting your life back in order, and these guys will give you that option. You pay, but for good reason. Use them if you can't rely on your local NHS services for ADHD assistance.

I can’t stress just how helpful Dr. Ankur Kumar has been. I was keen to ensure I saw a consultant who I had a strong sense of confidence in, so I would have complete faith in the accuracy of diagnosis and advice regarding treatment. Dr. Kumar absolutely fit the books as a specialised consultant who had previously been part of the team handling ADHDers at the renowned SLaM mental health hospital, and I was drawn to his profile on the ADHD centre website as a young, experienced doctor with a good vibe that I could hopefully identify and communicate with as much as possible. From diagnosing my ADHD in a robust and detailed assessment to supporting me with titration of medicine, I always felt that the key to Dr. Kumar’s treatment was enabling me to make informed choices and take control of my treatment so it worked for me. This isn’t to say that his strong expertise wasn’t there to steer me - rather that he supported my acting as an active participant in each step of my treatment pathway with the independence to make guided choices. This was hugely important for me and this process has been one of assuming a greater degree of control over my life and health. Dr. Kumar was honest, empathetic and non-judgmental. I felt I could be open and say more or less anything to him, which is something I usually find challenging with doctors. He had great insight into my experience and feelings, and was able to articulate where I felt unable to express myself fully. I couldn’t have asked for a better physician for this, and I felt confident I was in the best possible hands. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Kumar to anybody seeking diagnosis or treatment for ADHD. He is clearly very experienced at engaging and communicating with neurodivergent individuals. I felt valued and respected as an equal partner in dialogue and planning regards treatment choices, which is a remarkable achievement for a condition where so often one can feel isolated, misunderstood and an outsider to society’s common perspectives and experiences. To this extent I felt Dr. Kumar gave me confidence and calm, reassurance and encouragement. Dr. Kumar built me up when my expectation going in to a space of clinical intervention and psychiatric evaluation was one of feeling diminished, vulnerable and a person who might come across mentally unwell. I’d expected to be placed under the looking glass of a serious doctor in a serious white coat, to dictate to me how I should deal with my serious problems. This wasn’t my experience at all. On top of having confidence in his advice, clear experience and knowledge, his relaxed and approachable manner was refreshing. Being able to talk freely about my experience of ADHD and make decisions with help of a compassionate, empathetic expert helped with feelings of being out of touch with others due to this condition, and of lacking capacity to take meaningful control of my life. Dr. Kumar has a genuine and clear interest in the wellbeing of his patients - whether that’s in relation to treatment impacting on work performance, daily life or otherwise. He is a kind and emotionally astute individual. He’s also very funny at times. While I am here I should give a special mention to the admin team - particularly Dr. Kumar’s fantastic receptionist Leanne Ford - prompt to respond, highly conscientious, and helpful with queries and requests. Do see Dr. Ankur Kumar if you think you have ADHD, you won’t find the experience difficult in the slightest. My only regret is not doing so earlier! I look forward to continued follow ups into the future and continued progress under his supervision and guidance.

I was under the care of Mr Ankur Kumar, who was incredibly helpful, kind and thoughtful in his care, helped with the whole process of diagnosing my ADHD and finding the right treatment plan for me. Have recommended the ADHD centre to friends who suffer from ADHD already and will continue to do so

My fiancé recently booked here but then decided she wanted to go elsewhere due to the reviews. She requested to cancel over 3 days ago now and nobody has responded to her. She has emailed on more than one occasion and there’s been no response. We’re currently down 745 pound because they’re not replying. Her assessment was booked for a week tomorrow and they are ignoring her.

The care and support from Dr Ankur Kumar and The ADHD Centre team is second to none. After a lifetime of struggles with all that comes along with ADHD, I booked an adult ADHD assessment at the beginning of April. After booking, I received a few forms to fill out, including registration forms and child/adult collateral. They do all of this through an online system. The initial assessment was 1 1/2 hours, which was with Dr Ankur Kumar, where we discussed some of the struggles I'd had, shared school reports, and talked through the day-to-day parts of life. I was extremely apprehensive before the consultation, but soon became more comfortable. At the end of the session, based on the collateral forms, school reports and discussion we had, the diagnosis was given. When asked about my thoughts on the diagnosis, I was a mix between frustrated at schools historically missing the signs, and relieved that I had a new language to explore the issues I were having. I am aged 27, so there was a thought of what life could have been if this was discovered sooner. We had a discussion about treatment options, including ADHD coaching and medication. I was apprehensive about medication, though interested in the coaching aspect. I was asked to book in for some baseline assessments (bloods, ECG, blood pressure, weight/height, etc), and recommended Same Day Doctor, which were excellent as well. A week later, with my test results, I booked in for a follow-up zoom appointment, where we discussed deeper the different options so that I could make an informed decision. Before this call, I spent a lot of time reading into medications, coaching etc, which pointed towards combinational therapy being the most effective; so we discussed this as an option and opted for both medication and coaching. After each session, I got a solid summary of notes sent to me, which was really useful to review afterwards! The introduction to medication was gradual and smooth; at each stage checking in to see the effects and side-effects so that we could finetune to the right level of medication. It's now just over 3 months since my initial assessment, and we're now entering a shared care agreement with my GP so that treatment can continue under the NHS. The change has been incredible. I can work, sleep, read and be present when talking with friends/family. I am conscious of the fact that I sound like an advertisement here, but I am amazed by the impact that treatment has had on me. I've tried pomodoro timers, hue light bulbs on study settings, trello, jira, MS Planner/Tasks, eat the frog, everything you can imagine to just get to a point where I can focus for more than 5 minutes without shaking my legs and getting fully distracted into something for hours, only to be late to a deadline. - Key Considerations - This is a private clinic, and so there's costs associated with it. Most private health insurance providers won't cover ADHD assessments under their terms (as I found out). The moment I was on the right dose and we were on solid ground, we had a discussion about a GP Shared Care agreement, reducing the costs of medications substantially, and removing the need to monthly follow-ups. NHS waitlists are 3 years long for ADHD assessments in parts of the country, though some are quicker. They are not about tying you into paying £ for years, though they have a duty of care, especially around stimulant medications, so expect to pay £3k-4k over a number of months; anything less is a bonus :) If you decide to go onto medication, you'll pay for them privately until entering a shared care agreement. Not all medications are generic, meaning that for my prescription of elvanse, it was costing me £85 at a supermarket pharmacy. - Conclusion - Ultimately, the process was smooth, the staff were friendly, and Dr Ankur Kumar was professional and supportive. To all the team at The ADHD Centre, I want to give a massive thank you for the service you offer.

I was diagnosed and treated by Dr Ankur Kumar who was a pleasure to deal with, very professional but also seemed to really care about my wellbeing. Although this is a private clinic, I didn't get the feeling that they are just interested in money, as Dr Kumar suggested various NHS services that I could use. I am now solely using my local NHS service but did have the option of setting up a shared care agreement for my medication. The admin team at the ADHD Centre in Manchester are also very helpful!
