Unique . Comfortable, good value but slightly dated student accommodation which adds to it's charm. Very peaceful place within a busy student are of the city. Love it!
This has that yha vibe from the 1970s all over it and I loved slightly distressed YHAs full of character in the 1970s. They have a small bar where you can get some beer and wine and a lovely lounge where you can retire to drink it . Clearly part of an ecumenical college with a quadrangle and cloisters in the centre which would probably be lovely in the summer.
It’s like a hostel type place, which is fine. However there seemed to be multiple people partying into the early hours of the morning. Very dated rooms. Definitely not the safety area.
I booked day of and was a bit anxious about arriving and gaining access but there is a receptionist until 11p. There is a code to enter after hours but it wasn't provided with the booking information and I didn't reach anyone at reception when I called in. The building is a bit old but the rooms are arranged around a courtyard, so it's quite peaceful. I had a twin bed and the room had a sink, shower, toilet ensuite, as well as a desk with computer monitor. Great value for a one night stay, passing through Manchester! Continental breakfast was included in the morning, I believe available 7-9. Not sure what options there are if you can't walk stairs, there seemed to be a lot of steps around. Plenty of free parking available around the building on their property.
I stayed here for the second time. As a student this place is excellent. Staff are very nice and are like a family. I would love to return again for a stay sometime soon. The location is right next to a bus stop with frequent bus service to airport and the city center. The courtyard is green and very natural. Overall I am very happy with my stay and in my opinion this is better than premier inn or travellodge.
Good value for money. Definitely the best hotel I've stayed in in Manchester for that amount of money. My room was quite big, the staff was super nice and friendly. I also loved having breakfast there, you can choose between so many different things, sweet and savoury. I'll definitely come back if I ever end up in Manchester again!
Stayed here several times while in Manchester. Rooms are always clean and staff helpful. Great breakfast and easy bus route to town. It's a budget place I suppose but I've paid a lot more to stay in worse places. They have a lovely garden too .
Absolutely not the best. The room we were given had many issues. Floor cleaned in the middle only. Window had a do not open sign on it. We wonder how long that had been there? Very strange ceiling in the room, would not like to say what material it was clad with? Absolutely No sound proofing. Breakfast Chefs were very chatty and seemed very friendly as did most of the reception staff. Although reasonably priced the rooms need updating urgently.
The location of this hotel is perfect. It is very close to the famous Wilmslow road, which is famous for the Asian food options. It has a library on site, which was a new thing for me. The room space was enough with all the facilities but it wasn't what I was expecting. The garden in the middle is beautiful.
A perfect place for a budget stay close to the city center. Cozy rooms with everything that you need. A filling breakfast included in the cost paid and a half an hour of a walk away from the city center. There are plenty of restaurants and stores close by and a beautiful garden across the road. I had booked this place as a contingency placeholder for a short stay, but ended up extending the stay for 8 nights. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is on a fixed budget and wants to stay close to the city.
