Lovely hotel. Very clean and all staff are very friendly... But the rooms get absolutely boiling! And the air con isn't strong enough to cool it. The duvets are so noisy so my son moving due to the heat, kept us awake over ½ the night!

We had a fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Stockport—its location is great, with Stockport train station right outside the door and plenty of shops and restaurants just a short stroll away. The staff were warm and welcoming, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere relaxed and inviting. Breakfast was a real highlight, with a good selection and a dedicated gluten-free section that made mornings stress-free and delicious. For the price, it’s excellent value and a perfect base for exploring the area.

Very decent budget hotel. Can’t fault the location. Right next to the train station. But I parked in a very new looking multi-storey NCP a 2 minute walk away. There’s also a handy Sainsburys Local next to the car park. Fairly standard Express room. But everything was in good order and very clean. Nice big walk-in shower with great water pressure. Breakfast quality was very good for this class of hotel and the 2 ladies running the breakfast service were very friendly and efficient.

Had to come here for 4 nights for work. Pleasantly surprised at the rooms. Nice and modern with all you need. Unfortunately my room hadn't been serviced when I returned from work later in the day, and housekeeping had to come in when I just got in from work. It was a rushed job and I had to ask for things to be replenished, such as towels and coffee etc. Free breakfast was delicious, I liked the grab and go option. A lady who worked at breakfast helped me a couple of times and nothing was too much trouble. Location is good for Stockport train station and it's close to the town center. I would recommend this hotel.

Wonderful building and staff! The building is very new so you can expect a very clean and modern room. Me and my partner were on the 3rd floor. Room was clean with a very large bed, bathroom, desk, TV and view of the train station plus Stockport. Didn't interact with the staff much, but they seemed professional and nice. Location was great with only a few issues! Located in the center of town so everything is nearby, train station was about 30 seconds from the front entrance so great for running out and jumping on the train to Manchester, Sainsbury's Local about 20 steps away, and fast food about a couple of minutes walk. The issues with the location were you are in the take off path for Manchester airport so you can hear planes go by, but honestly not too bad. Train station can be a little noisy since it's so close, but once again ear plugs saved us. The last issue is the parking. There is no customer parking so you are told you can park in the NCP lot just nearby. They do give you a 50% discount though, but it would have been nice to have staying guest parking underground or nearby for free. The very last issue was with the room. When we woke up in the morning and went into the bathroom it stank of cigarettes. It didn't the night before, but I am guessing someone could not be arsed going down to smoke and instead just did it in there bathroom leading it to travel through the pipes to ours. Would be nice if you had a measure to stop people doing this as it really let the room and overall stay down. Will I stay again? Probably, but it won't be an instant choice for me as I'll probably look around for other alternatives first.

Me, my husband & son won an overnight stay here and 4 panto tickets for the local plaza. There was an NCP car park opposite where you can get your ticket validated for a 24 hr stay it was £8.50 after deduction. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and tidy. Lovely touch the little Christmas card and 4 delicious chocolate cakes went down a treat, especially with our son who is chocolate MAD! You can tell the hotel pays attention to detail and cleanliness is top priority. My anxiety around dirt and dust is very high, but there was no problem with that at this hotel. Breakfast was nice, plenty of choice of cereals and traditional English brek. Toast machine, Croissants etc. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay, close to railway station but no problem at all with noise....

Rooms are a lovely size and very clean, staff are very hospitable, breakfast is good. Train station literally opposite, very convenient. Only downside is no parking however the NCP next door is half price as you validate your ticket when you stay.
