    Was in need of a new car ASAP as I had my previous one written off. Alex and Automotive were absolutely brilliant, I purchased a BMW 1 Series with a Cat N marker from them, which would put some people off. However, I did the relevant checks and Automotive provided a full years MOT, a service and 3 months warranty for piece of mind. Not only that they delivered the car to me over 4 hours away and I can say I am more than happy with the quality of vehicle they’ve provided.     Reply from Emma (Sophie’s mother): Alex, I’d like to respond carefully and truthfully to your reply, because there are several things that need clarifying. My daughter paid a deposit on 17 February 2025 and collected her VW Polo on 24 February 2025, showing 66,991 miles. When you later asked for the mileage in October, it was 71,050 miles – that’s around 4,000 miles total, not the 11,000 miles you’ve stated. It’s also worth noting that the car was completely off the road for six weeks between April and May while waiting to be collected, repaired, and returned, so the real mileage driven was minimal. You stated that you did not believe you deserved a one star review for tyres needing to be replaced after 11,000 miles, and I agree that wouldn’t be a reason to give a one star review. The reasons for the one star review is due to many other issues. When the timing chain failed on 12 April, Sophie immediately contacted you and was told to call back on the Monday. She did exactly that, but from that point on communication became almost impossible. Between 12 and 29 April, she and her aunt repeatedly called both your mobile and the garage number, left voicemails and sent text messages, but rarely received any response. At times, days passed without even a short update. The car was finally collected on 29 April and not returned until 27 May – over six weeks later and when it came back it had a flat tyre and was dirty inside. Throughout this period, Sophie was calm, patient, and polite. She explained that she was a student midwife, reliant on her car to travel between Devon and Swansea, but she received little sympathy and no apology for the delay or the stress caused. It was only after her grandfather personally visited the garage that the repair seemed to progress. After poor communication and a genuinely stressful experience, Sophie eventually left a factual and fair review. She didn’t insult anyone or exaggerate, she simply described what had happened so other customers could make an informed decision. In response, you called and texted her directly, demanding payment for a collection and delivery fee that had never been mentioned or invoiced, and threatened court action if she didn’t pay. This was deeply upsetting for her and completely inappropriate. Out of fear, she deleted her review and blocked your number, hoping to be left alone. To make matters worse, your public reply to my own review included her personal phone number and our home address. This is a serious breach of GDPR and Google’s privacy policy. Publishing someone’s private information online without consent is unacceptable, and I have already asked you to remove it immediately. I have also reported this to Google and have escalated it to the Information Commissioner’s Office, RAC and Trading Standards via The Citizens Advice Bureau. Every message, call log and screenshot has been saved and clearly shows the pattern of poor communication, missed calls, and unanswered messages that caused so much frustration and distress. We fully accept that used cars can develop faults, that was never the issue, but the way this situation was handled, and the way my daughter was treated afterwards, falls well below any reasonable standard of customer care. Although you may believe your conduct was acceptable, as a family we strongly disagree. We hope by setting out the full picture here, others can understand our experience and feel empowered to share their own honestly, without fear of intimidation or retaliation. — Emma (Sophie’s mother)
