Excellent 3-star hotel. The hotel is historical and well maintained. My stay was pleasant and comfortable except for the reception staff who entered my room one day before my checkout date asking me to check-out "NOW" while I was on my bed- I know I did not lock my door, but I'm sure even if I did the lad would break and enter). City center is nearly 2 hours walk/ 25 min by tram (10 mins walk from hotel to nearest stop) and 20 mins by car.

Overall very good. Room is clean and toilet is spotless. Good range of breakfast as well. However, I don’t like the fact that people enjoy to smoke directly in front of the entrance. Everyone I was walking in someone was directly in front of the door to the entrance and I had to walk through his/her fumes. When we also arrived there was a wedding going on which is fine. What’s not fine however, is people coming up and down the stairs drunk. Beds are comfortable and I had a good sleep on the first day. The following day however, our room was shaking from how loud the music was which gave me a massive headache the next day.

Room boiling hot had to move at 11.00 at night. No ginger ales, had to queue for a drink. Could not charge anythings to your room. Breakfast was cold. No side plates only saucers. Very tired looking hotel, needs a complete overall.

Lots of good things, nice rooms, good service at reception, great chef. Also received complimentary drinks because rooms were not ready. Some areas to look into.....smell as you enter the room area, coffee cups were not clean, no milk in the room for tea/coffee, i had booked a deluxe room but it looked like a standard.

Booked afternoon tea for 16 people for my daughters baby shower. The girls set up the table and helped us add our own bits of sparkle when we arrived . Olivia kept the hot water pots topped up and ensured the ladies were never kept waiting too long at the bar. Sandwiches, cakes and scones were fresh and plentiful and the glass of fizz was a reasonable quality for the cost. Thank you. I have picked up your wedding package information and will be in touch soon x

Christmas day dinner. Food and service excellent. Very relaxed, and a nice atmosphere. No set times, just eat when your ready but because of this a little patience is required. I found the seating a little impersonal as there was 20+ of us on a long narrow table so people were sat quite far apart. I suppose there's not much they could do about this but 2 round tables may have been better. If having a drink before eating the bar itself is tiny and it can take a while to get served but it's not massively overpriced like some hotels. All in all a very pleasant experience.
