We came for a pre-ordered post wedding/xmas meal for 7 adults and 3 children. Some of our group received all of our food but 3 adults didn't receive key items on their main courses. Comfit Duck with Braised Red Cabbage and red wine jus arrived minus red cabbage and minus jus! By the time the jus arrived with the cabbage (after we asked for it) it accompanied empty plates! The childrens' sides arrived after an hour! The food quality was very good though overall. I spoke with the manager Danny who was extremely apologetic and did all he could to accommodate and make up for the errors, and as a result I can only commend the handling of the complaint. Thank you Danny! Sadly, dessert then followed with one of our party receiving Xmas Pudd with garlic cream sauce- meant for the cod main?? In summary, the kitchen seems shambolic, service and management excellent. Everyone doing their best to cope. I admire and thank staff for their kind service and my wedding meal was very memorable. Thanks Danny for dealing so well with everything

From the moment I arrived, this stay was a disaster. After being asked what drink I wanted, I was left waiting for over 30 minutes with no follow-up, completely ignored while staff focused entirely on a film crew that arrived later. The front desk was unmanned, and it took me around 20 minutes of wandering the hotel just to find someone to check me in. The room itself was outdated, poorly maintained, and didn’t appear properly cleaned. There were cobwebs in the corners, paint peeling in the bathroom, and dust buildup under the bed, which was also missing one of its wheels — causing it to wobble. The only usable power socket was across the room, and the lighting was so old it flickered for nearly a minute before turning on. Our company has now blacklisted this hotel from future bookings due to the overall poor experience. The only positive note was the food — credit to the chef, who clearly takes pride in their work despite the rest of the operation feeling chaotic and unprofessional. Overall, the hotel felt disorganized, uncaring, and badly managed. A truly disappointing experience — I cannot recommend staying here.

We had a great time having a pint and scran after walk. Really good camembert board. Good value for money with lots of artisan bread. Also lovely side order of sausage.

Service and staff were fantastic. The food was really nice at dinner time..Breakfast in the morning was freshly prepared and really good quality/ value. The rooms albeit a little small were warm and very clean. Piping hot water for the showers, very comfy bed and quiet .. can't fault it will be back

Really great place. Staff super friendly and brekfast was excellent. Only reason for 4 not 5 stars is that the bedrooms could do with some TLC, chipped tiles/ scrappy wallpaper etc. but these are minor things and hopefully easily sorted. Great stay and would recommend. Bed was huge

Stayed one night at this hotel. The rooms are a bit tired but functional. Had a couple of issues but Mike and Adge gave excellent customer service that could not be faulted. Bar area warm and welcoming. Had an excellent breakfast. Improved room decor, i would have given 5 stars.

Stayed overnight with family group Good selection of competitively priced beer Staff are very friendly, especially the older woman behind the bar, good banter and a bit kooky (in a good way). Food was excellent, I had the mushroom and ale pie, the pie crust was to-die-for. Veggie breakfast was great. Have been here previously with a walking group, for a pint. Highly recommended. Cheers!
