   Rooms are smallish, as you'd expect from the price. Fred the manager is extremely friendly and helpful, and keeps the place really nice. Will definitely be staying again.

   Extremely poor, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! FRAUDDDDDDDD TOOK MONEY AND CANCELLED STAY LAST MINUTE Me and my husband made a booking last year but could not attend due to him getting covid, we contacted the hotel straightaway for cancellation. However, hotel refused to cancel and refund us but gave an option to reschedule. We scheduled the date for tomorrow and during discussion they cancelled our stay without informing and now demanding £65 as a deposit to secure the booking. FRAUD AND EXTREMELY UNETHICAL, PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

   I wouldn’t even give it 1 star it was disgusting, basically like a hostel although I’ve stayed in much cleaner hostels. When we walked in, a police officer was looking for somebody who was staying there which is a great start. The room had flies in, it was unhygienic and far from clean. The skirting boards and doors/door frames were covered in dust/dirt. In the bathroom, there is a 99p (Alberto balsam) bottle of shampoo for everyone to use - how unhygienic. And to top this off, when I said to the manager that I did not feel comfortable staying here he didn’t have much to say and still proceeded to charge my card and now is refusing to give me a refund even though we didn’t stay and we weren’t in there longer than 2 minutes (whilst we booked another hotel)!!!! AVOID!!!!!

   It was a last minute booking for my mother who has several disabilities and they have been truly amazing to her, I have to especially thank Fred for being so hospitable - the staff really do go above and beyond to respectfully ensure that you have a relaxing stay, I would definitely recommend this place. I’m very impressed!

   Very basic but this is reflected in the price. The breakfast was tiny but decent quality. Sadly no sound proofing so we were subjected to the sound of love making from the room above at 2am (luckily he didn't last long). Hosts were super friendly and polite.

   We used this hotel for an overnight stay during a weekend-long hiking trip to the Peaks. The place was clean but basic. Room was compact but comfortable. Minor repairs needed to be done, but service was excellent. The proprietor (Fred) couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating; communication was excellent, and he was genuinely helpful but not obtrusive. Breakfast was brought to our room due to COVID restrictions rather than the dining room itself; that must have been a logistical nightmare for the cook, but this was coped with well. Car parking was a little tight, but adequate and off-road, which is a welcome bonus. Bearing in mind that this is during the COVID pandemic, I couldn't really have asked for more. Price was definitely reasonable. Would I use again? Yes, I would.

   Good place for overnight stay. Friendly and welcoming owners. My partner loved how soft the pillows were. Good breakfast. Only thing i would say is the room needs a good lick of paint to freshen it up but otherwise it was fine.

   I am giving this place 5 stars not because it is the Ritz but because for the money it was 5 star. Good sized room with everything you need. Large car park. Friendly owners. The breakfast room has been tastefully refurbished and the breakfast was a beautifully cooked clean plate of food. Cereals and grapefruit etc also available. Good quality coffee. All for £46 for a double room. Fantastic value and very close to town.. Highly recommended.
