The rooms are nice, but...no sink downstairs, where the "kitchen" is. Can't wash your hands while preparing food or eating, can't wash plates... Several things don't work, like TV or CD-player. Check it between guests, will you? The owner is too intense. Calling several times and chatting for half an hour about nothing. On their website it's written with huge letters that "You automatically get early check-ins and late check-outs". This is simply not true. Check-in was at 15 and check-out at 10.

We have just returned home after a night stay at the Wizards Thatch in Alderley Edge. What a delightful enchanting space. We stayed in the Wizardry Suite and it certainly lived up to all of our expectations and more… it’s truly a magical place. Ian keeps in constant contact with you before your visit and gives you all of the information that you need and places to eat and drink in the surrounding area. The Wizardry is filled with so many Historical Artefacts, Curiosities and Memorabilia so much so that one visit isn’t enough so we will definitely be back. There is super fast Wi-fi if you do want to miss all there is to see and look/need to be on your phone. Have told all my friends and family about this place and comes highly HIGHLY recommended.

Absolutely wonderful suite, brilliantly placed for travelling to local sites of interest. Hosts are attentive and offered brilliant advice on what was worth going to look at, couldn't have asked for more

A warm, cosy base for exploring Alderley Edge on a chilly weekend! Comfortable bedrooms and no shortage of interesting books to dip into.

I loved my stay at Wizards Thatch and will definitely stay again! This is more than a mere lodging. Not only is Wizards Thatch welcoming, warm, cozy, quiet and comfortable, it carries a sense of the deep and personal history of England, Alderley Edge and the myths and legends of Wizardry of 350 years ago. Deep sleep is easy in the comfortable bed. The genuine authentic welcome of Ian (the kind and enthusiastic owner) and Kelly (the gentle and warm house manager) gave me a sense that I belonged there. I highly recommend Wizards Thatch--truly a 5-star experience.

This is a beautifully decorated, rustic, enchanting hotel. The 400 year old building is very comfy and warm. An extremely relaxing environment. A fairytale feeling to the aptly named Wizards retreat. Welcomed by the owner Ian and introduced to the area, given plenty of ideas for eating and day out opportunities. The suite (Merlin Suite) was extremely comfortable, warm and a delightful place to stay. Cake, biscuits, teas and coffees and toiletries all included and of a high quality. Just an absolutely delightful stay which we plan to repeat to experience one of the other suites there.
