I have used Wharf Garage for the last 20 years and would describe them as courteous, efficient and value for money and will continue using them.
MONUMENTALLY UNHELPFUL AND TRUCULENT Our car was booked in for a service this morning at the Wharfe Garage. As usual, there were no spare parking spaces in front of the garage-so I parked the car in the only space available. Later in the morning I was told that the car was ready to collect. When we arrived the mechanic started to rebuke me for not parking the car properly. We queried how long it would take a mechanic to move a car a few yards? He began to shout at us. He then announced that he'd decided not to service the car. When my husband challenged him about this he became aggressive- very disconcerting as were are both 70 years old, my husband is disabled and my mobility is severely curtailed due to extreme back pain .
My partner talked to Sam regarding the problem with my car. Sam was nice and helpful. So we decided to get the car sorted by them. But when I dropped off the car, the guy at the garage was rude to me. After a few hours, no news or quote from the garage. I called. The staff refused the quote on phone and just keep asking whether I need it fix or not. But how can I decide whether to fix it or not without a price? Then I decided not to fix it as I don’t know if it will bankrupt me or not. I paid for the checking of the car without repairing it. I did asked about a warranty claim as my car is still under warranty. I was then refused again as my warranty is not with them. We would thought a VAT registered garage would deal with the warranty company but obviously it’s not the case. I thought the Google reviews are reliable as I’m new to the area. Or may be this is an isolated case just because of my skin colour.
Sam is a very knowledgeable mechanic. Helped me out massively with my car. Would definitely recommend and I will certainly be using this garage again.

Had a number of issues with my car, and they've always fixed the problems and been completely honest and trustworthy. They always explain what's the issue which is really nice. Prices are very reasonable. I would recommend!
Don’t just look for the cheapest MOT. Mine failed on the brake light. Not just a bulb change but an LED cluster whole unit change. I got the part and Sam installed it without charge. Went over and above. He could have said ‘not my problem’ but fitted it in no time. Very helpful. Very pleased. Don’t think you’d get this level of service at other places.
