Really nice hotel. Have stayed at voco in Glasgow and Oxford and this one in Manchester didn't dissapoint. Stayed in a king room which was really spacious and nicely laid out. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. No parking at hotel but plenty of local car parks that are reasonable, not NCP!!!.
I have been staying at Voco for three nights a week over the last few months with work, and it's one of the best hotel experiences I've had. What makes the place is the staff. All super friendly and all very helpful. Very clean rooms and a fantastic location.
Staff at voco Manchester City Centre were so friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The Brazilian staff member at the front desk was especially kind and patient, helping us sort out a reservation that was missing a night without ever making us feel rushed. The room itself was great – very clean, stylish, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable and cozy on a cold, rainy English evening. The lobby and restaurant/bar area are new and modern, with a HUGE TV (seriously huge!) and amphitheater-style seating opposite so a big group can watch the football together with drinks. Very clever setup – I’ve never seen anything quite like it before. Breakfast was excellent, what I would absolutely call a full English: nice fat sausages, beans, eggs, cottage potatoes, tomatoes, and a full array of accompaniments. Miam miam! Having just spent five months in France, I skipped the baked goods this time, but everything looked very tempting. All in all, a wonderful, cozy, restful night, a spotless bathroom with a shower I was actually happy to step into, and a bountiful breakfast with both hearty and fresh options. This is definitely my place to stay for future visits to Manchester!
I stayed for one night for an event that was nearby. Check in was quick and smooth, all staff were super friendly and accommodating! I forgot my toothpaste and they kindly delivered a dental kit to my room which was complimentary! Bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful; shower has great pressure too! Nice desk area and tea/coffee station. Also had breakfast which was a buffet, would have been nice to see some more veggie options and maybe a hash brown? But apart from that it was great, couldn’t fault it really! Thanks for a great stay!
I stayed here over Pride weekend. Check-in was smooth, I got early check-in due to my Ambassador status, my room was huge and spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and I liked the Apotheke amenities. Location near Canal Street is also a big plus. Where things fell short was that the hotel did not seem well-prepared for Pride weekend. The Pride experience was underwhelming. Breakfast both days was clearly understaffed — just one lady trying to manage everything, with slow table clearing, no plates and bowls available, and a jammed toaster. Decorations were minimal (balloons only were put up Friday afternoon), and while they offered a Pride cocktail, there was only one bartender. On parade day, I was happy to see voco employees preparing in the restaurant, but during the march they looked disengaged, walking without energy or enthusiasm. Given its prime location near Canal Street, voco could really shine during Pride. Next year, more effort with staffing, decorations, and maybe a small goodie bag for guests would make a big difference (ie : tote bag with pride items) Other Notes: The night staff/security team could also work on being a bit friendlier. Overall: Despite the shortcomings around Pride, I still see great potential here. The location, rooms, and comfort are excellent — but the hotel really needs to prepare better for big events and ensure staffing matches guest demand. With improvements, voco Manchester could easily become one of the best places to stay for Pride weekend.
Outstanding place staff were fantastic throughout the hotel. Our evening meal was superb and the bar area is very cosmopolitan. Rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean with extremely comfortable beds. Considering the location which was perfect for us there was little to no noise all evening. Breakfast was fab with a great selection of vegan options. We’re hoping to make this place a regular stay for us. Would highly recommend
Spent two nights in Manchester for my birthday. The stay was smooth and lovely. Very quiet hotel. Staff absolutely amazing! Received a free voucher for cocktails when staff members found out it was my birthday! This was so kind! Everything in walking distance from hotel. The room itself has a lovely design! The bed was comfortable. The pillows not the best quality but manageable to use. The bathroom, amazing! Overall, would definitely come back and recommend to friends. Keep good work!
Outstanding hotel! The rooms are beautifully decorated. It’s cool and hip. Many surprise little amenities and touches everywhere around the hotel. Great location too right in the city centre, bear trains, shopping and right next to canal street. We got a city view room and would totally recommend! Only gripe was the breakfast is way overprices at £17.50! It was good…but no amount of eggs are worth £17.50 each!
After staying here with my husband in the summer we returned last weekend to celebrate our anniversary. This hotel is really great, central location so easy walking distance to bars/restaurants/shops and just round the corner from Chinatown and the Gay Village. Both times the rooms have been lovely, we went for a bigger room the second time we visted as the standard rooms are a bit small (but very comfortable). The staff are always really friendly and helpful and the hotel even set the room up with a special complimentary anniversary treat for us. Breakfast and the bar are both nice too. Price is reasonable for a nice, central hotel and having stayed at a lot of different hotels in Manchester I'd recommend it as a fun place to stay. We will definitely be choosing to stay here again next time we're in the city!
Second time here. Both stays have been consistently flawless. Lovely service, well-maintained, clean and thoughtfully-designed rooms. Smooth check-in/out. This visit was for an anniversary celebration and we were treated to some antipasti and cakes as well as complimentary cocktails at the bar (all free). This will continue to be our home in Manchester when I come to visit I think, (business or pleasure). Great vibe, great location, and you know what you're getting.
