    Graham and Dan at Halford’s were very helpful. They checked our Mini Cooper over and sorted out thr spark plugs and coils no problem. They were in touch with us through the day as and when they needed to be.

    I was very disappointed with my experience here. I took my car for MOT as the price was good. My car failed and had a few fixes to be done - no worries, not their fault - told them to go ahead and fix it. After looking further they determined the fix was beyond their remit (wiring issue) and couldn't help me any further. Frustrating, but I understood. They then tried to charge me for extra work that was done in error (replacing a bulb when the issue was actually with wiring). Once I called them out on it, they took it off the price - tells me they knew it wasn't legit and we're hoping to get away with it. I then told them I'd get the issue fixed immediately and bring it back the next business day for my free re-test, as they're required to do by DVSA. The employee tried to convince me he wouldn't do it for free, until I explained they were legally required to. He then said "I'll see what we can do." Finally, I got the work done elsewhere and Halford's "couldn't fit me in" for a number of days, despite only needing a very quick 5 minute retest. I desperately needed my car retested due to an upcoming trip, so ultimately I ate the MOT cost and had it done elsewhere without issue. The whole thing seemed very dishonest and sketchy - multiple times I called out their false information and I was net with begrudging dismissal. Very disappointing for a reputable chain

    Thought I had a brake caliper issue. Called up, Graham managed to fit me in the next day. Dropped the car off, Graham did a great job of updating me on progress. They identified that the car didn't need a full caliper change and it was instead a sliding pin issue. Turned out it was on a part they put in on during my MOT 5ish months ago. Super honest, was under warranty so the cost (already lower as issue was less serious than anticipated) was reduced as warranty was honoured. Apparently Luke worked on the car, plastic on the seat and paper on the floor so car was returned nice and clean. Much appreciated gents thank you for fitting me in on short notice.

    I had an MOT on 2nd Feb 23, im always a bit nervous, however, I was put at ease straight away! When I went to pick up my car, I was pleasantly surprised that my car had passed, after the fantastic staff topped up my wiper fluid and changed a bulb for free! Thank you so much guys, made my day

    Intermediate service carried out. Unfortunately they hadn't topped up the wash/wipe which caused a problem when I was driving up to Scotland and my wash/wipe froze. They also didn't complete the vehicle service history. I used Halfords 'contact us' to let them know about the poor service and I got a phone call from Halfords stating that the garage accepted that they hadn't done the service properly. The reason given was that one of their 'technicians' had resigned and that they were short staffed and to avoid letting customers down they had cut corners!!! I was assured that my car's oil and oil filter were changed (apparently the important stuff on an intermediate service). I accepted a small reimbursement for the inconvenience and the cost of buying 5 litres of wash/wipe, but this doesn't properly address the poor work which I strongly suspect has affected other customers at the Halfords garage. I recently joined the Halfords premium motor club which cost me 49 quid and I'm really feeling that this was a waste of money as my confidence has been severely dented. Perhaps it was just a bad day, but you can be the judge of that.
