   I have been dealing with Steve and his team for over 8 years now with both commercial vehicles for my workplace and also my own private vehicles for both MOT's, servicing and repairs. I would not do that for 8 years if I did not trust Steve and his team. Over the years Steve and his team have gone above and beyond to help me over the usual stuff, this is a very helpful garage they communicate well with the customer and always consult with you first if they come across an unexpected issue and do not just assume you will pay or have bottomless pockets. I live in Elkesley a difficult to get to village without a car, on many occasions Steve has dropped me off at home and later collected me to be able to pick up my correctly repaired car, where do you get that kind of courtesy and customer service? I have read some of the negative reviews and yes sometimes things POSSIBLY go amiss but that is life and car ownership. Steve and his team are always polite, respectful and courteous towards the customer and if you are a bit concerned and possibly upset, then perhaps in you discussed things in the same manner as they treat you and not treat them as scammers and highway men you will be more than impressed with their response. Unfortunately we live in an age of "Keyboard Warriors" who vent their spleen online and on giving a one sided negative review. I for one will be continuing to use Steve and his teams services and look forward with total confidence to many more years of fantastic mechanical work and the best customer care and for me trouble free motoring and if not trouble free I know where me and my car/s will be going straight to Steve and his team, a genuine big "THANK YOU" to you all.

   EXTORTIONATE PRICES. Took my car for MOT. Had passenger airbag light fixed by friend but air bag light needed resetting and told them about it. They Never told me they would charge for it. MOT itself costs £45 & they Charged me £45 for resetting the light, literally a 2 minute job. Although the mechanic I picked my car from was pleasant enough I made it clear that I would not be leaving positive feedback on Google. I'm not interested in coming back to talk to you as you will probably respond because I made my thoughts clear in a civilised manner to your mechanic and will not be using you or recommending you to anyone.

   DISGUSTED, ANGRY & seriously out of pocket using M&D autos!!!! Dropped off my classic VW T25 camper for its MOT. Received a phone call explaining they had snapped off its gear stick trying to get it off the test ramp using reverse.The van had been working fine & excessive force would’ve been needed to snap off it’s gearstick in the way it had! There was no apology, no accountability & the usually pleasant garage owner became dismissive & patronising. The mechanic he was with even seemed to find it funny. My 3rd disappointing experience with M&D autos, though this one is unforgivable. Won’t use again AVOID !

   Disgraceful garage , appalling performance of staff! Took my car running and came out with a car worth scrap after they got there hands on it. Do not reccomend. Staff have very little knowledge and fill you with excuses. Billed me for tools they’ve used to do a job and over- charged me for work they havent even done. Avoid !

   Superb, recently fitted me a brand new clutch. Can't fault what work was done. The guys were friendly and very helpful and diagnosed a couple of problems I had with car. Very reasonably priced. That happy with workmanship I booked mot with m&d retford . Will definitely be using again in the future. Thank you so much

   I've used these just for a service & MOT. They were pleasant, straightforward and charged about 140 in total for an Audi TT, very reasonable. I needed to pop back in for a minor issue the other day and they sorted it on the spot, again very friendly. I think this place has changed hands so I would not worry re the negative reviews below and give them a try. Only not 5 stars as I've not used them for much yet. Update Jan 19 - took the car in again for MOT and faulty window. Again very honest advice that I'd be better sourcing a 2nd hand motor and they'd fit it, rather than them order a brand new very expensive one. Passed my MOT - I certainly don't think they would rip anyone off

   I was looking for a local MOT and on seeing the above comment I was a bit apprehensive, however the local blog said the guys in the garage were great so I took my van in for an MOT and service. Speedy and efficient job. I told them about the above review and it was the previous owners so to put credit where credit due M&D did a top job and will use from now on as will the wife.
