My experience at Tatton House was very positive. The apartments are thoughtfully designed, make good use of space and lighting. They were also generally quiet, with very little noise carrying through, which was a big plus as a student. The staff were super friendly, responsive, and accommodating.

Please do not live here unless you absolutely have to. Tatton house accused me of not paying my rent after i had moved out and they had released my security deposit. They illegally tried to enter my flat on two separate occasions, with one contractor being rude to me as i would not let him enter as it was my right as a tenant. Staff that work there are rude and would send passive aggressive emails asking residents to be β€˜kinder’ to staff despite the fact that they were terrible at their jobs and overbearing with how much they would spam email you. Fire alarm tests more than once a week that would sometimes go on for hours and regularly wake me up and extremely poor soundproofing to the point that you could hear every movement in the flat above you and also would feel guilty about your own as you knew the person below you could hear every step. There was absolutely no ventilation in my flat (42) and the building was boiling all the time so the windows were kept wide open even in winter and in summer we would regularly have to sit outside so that we could escape from our flat that was the temperature of hell. The staff have absolutely no respect for residents that pay rent on time. if you are going to live in a front facing flat, be warned there is an excessive amount of noise and light pollution from Hello Students other property across the road. I would not recommend you live here at all, it is an overpriced slum. The intercom also doesn’t work so you may miss parcels. The location is good to the shops but i would only recommend you go to go local because the man in one of the convince stores on the other side started to get inappropriate and ask to take me on dates causing me to not feel safe to go in there anymore I have seen other reviews mentioning silverfish and we also had those aswell as so many fruit flies in the building. When i told staff about the fruit flies they said it was not their fault and they couldnt β€˜see an issue’ and that I should purchase nets for the windows I had to keep open all the time due to how hot it was. I know other residents had this issue as they woke me up asking to have a look in my flat if there is fruit flies. They did not give me notice. And i did regularly face sexual harrassment when walking around this area. Not good

More like a death trap. Tell me why the lower ground apartments have no working windows? There is a single sliding door, you are provided with a wooden plank to jam the mechanism so it sits slightly ajar, and told 'not to leave it unattended' - the apartment reached temperatures in the mid to high 30's, and that's not even to mention the humidity, and the pests and mold it brings. Silverfish, flour beetles, and just about any insect that thrives in humid and warm environments were all over; even though we had dehumidifiers in every cupboard, we lost all of our food multiple times because there was just too many pests; it doesn't matter how well you clean, because they're in the halls. We would clean up and down, and then see fat silver fish and weevils in the halls. The old management were good, but don't even bother with Hello Student running the ship. Rent is high, the employees on site were helpful but god forbid you need to talk to the landlord. We had contractors coming in and out with little notice, and invasive practices such as looking under our mattresses; I was also chagrinned that for this high rent cost, the new management treated it more like a hotel stay; there was a general aura of "This is our space, you're merely staying" - not what you want for high rent for a place that is supposed to be your living quarters. The building is falling to pieces; in our four-year tennancy, we saw slowly that everything was coming apart - cracks on the walls, mold seeping in everywhere, we lived in two different apartments in Tatton House during this time, and just about everything around us was falling apart. The area is absolutely terrible, too - multiple times I have been sexually harrassed and approached by strangers just walking to the university on my own in broad daylight. If you are a vulnerable person i.e a woman, don't walk alone outside; it isn't worth it. It is not a safe area. Just don't bother. Unless you really, seriously can't get anywhere else, just don't. If this is your first ever apartment, I will tell you now, you can do so much better. You don't have to put up with this; start looking for a new place as soon as you can. Wouldn't be surprised if the 5* reviews are through some 'sweepstakes giveaway' for something like a Β£50 cash prize; they're always using predatory marketing like that under the new management, making the tennants jump through hoops like dogs to get a chance to win money. Well, here's my review, do I get entered in the sweepstakes? This place is a nightmare. If you have a car, do yourself a favour and move somewhere further out from the city centre; rent is around the same even in Trafford, and your life will be so much better seeing foxes and hedgehogs outside your window instead of ... Well, I've seen it all outside of my window at Tatton House; students fornicating, a car's windows being smashed in, a knife being pulled... Compared to that, it seems a breeze to pay for our own gas & electric & wifi at our new apartment outside of the city centre.

I don't recommend anyone try to rent the flats here. 1.The management team is not helpful and some of their staffs are not friendly. 2.The doors, the walls and the ceiling are not well in soundproof. That's nosiy by the sound of stepping from upstair and the corridor, or your neighbour who always knock their walls. 3.The flats are very hotand ventilation is bad. Your flat will becoming a sauna when the summer came. 4.The smoke alarm is just in front of your bed on the ceiling, please ready to wear an eye mask when you hope you can sleep well.(please also to put in earplugs for the noise) Think twice before you signing.

Such a lovely team at Hello Student, super friendly and accommodating (pardon the pun). Living at Tatton House is great, as the walls are thick, no nuisance parties, and it has secure parking. Storage in the rooms is great, brilliant shower size, and building is close to the shops. Would recommend living or staying here!x

I highly recommend this place. I lived here for the final year of my university studies and it’s a nice and quick 15 minute walk to UoM campus. The accommodation is also close to bus stops. The studio flats are well designed and have lots of storage space. The staff are wonderful and it really makes all the difference!

Nice and new studio apartments. They are small but have lots of storage space and everything you need. Perfect to work in the university or in the hospital.
