Fantastic building with great heritage. Staff are friendly and helpful. We visited for a comedy show and was really impressed.
I expected a poor viewing experience as it's a local non chain, but I have to admit that I was very wrong. Lovely people, decent selection of snacks and drinks, comfy seats, great sound quality - will come back.
What a great venue. We saw the New Dawn Fades play, and having such an atmospheric venue in the heart of Ian Curtis' home town, playing the great songs he wrote there was truly memorable
Love to support the local cinema but they haven't had much on for kids over the holidays l. Great little cinema and within walking distance so can't complain too much
There’s nothing wrong with the venue but the film selections are largely blockbuster crap. The Sillk Screen season is interesting though. Following on from the follow-up response… The evidence shows that for local cinemas to survive they need to avoid competing with the multiplexes. They do this by showing a mixture of independent (not necessarily art house as you suggest) and ‘good quality’ blockbusters. I recall recently you sent out a plea for people to use the cinema which suggests that your model might not be the right one. I’m sure you do work damn hard and you should be commended for that but it doesn’t mean that I’m going to pay to watch a film I have no interest in. All the best.
I have live in Macc for coming on two years and only just been to the cinema. It’s just so cute. In a old Sunday school, it’s quirky in a good way. Lovely well stocked little bar and comfy sofa options too. So important to support local business and I will defo being going to the movies here again. Love it.
A wonderful step back in time, whilst accessing new release movies in my hometown. Amazing to see families able to see films as a family, at a discounted rate. I love the building, the concept & the fact it is in our community. Thanks to all who make that happen at Cinemac!
Loved this place so much. Independent cinema in the centre of Macclesfield. We booked a VIP 2 seater couch for £17 and it was fabulous. Even has a bar so we bought prosecco for £6. Screen was good. Sound was good. Win win. Booking can be online or at the door. And there is a traditional sweetie stand. It's on the 3rd floor of a building opposite Tescos if that helps. An absolute gem. Locals-USE THIS PLACE, you don't realise how lucky you are to have it. In my top 20 most favourite venues ever.
A brilliant adaptation of a historic building. Up to date films. Friendly staff. Good prices. My daughter loved the option of the sofa - she felt very grown up.
Nice traditional cinema in a former Sunday school. Seats not as comfy as larger chain cinemas but bearable. Snacks not as expensive as other larger chain cinemas. Sound is good and there is a bar (which also serves hot drinks) right at the back of the cinema. However it's quaint, quieter and cheaper than the larger chains and I would definitely go again!
