   DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE. Really disappointed that they have taken advantage of my mum. She dropped off her mini for an MOT and the garage didn’t ring to tell her her it needed new brake pads and went ahead with fitting them without authorisation. Not only had the car only done 15,000 miles so it seems really strange that they would need front and rear brake pads but I find it shocking that they have just gone ahead and replaced them. The mini has brake pad sensors and had not come on yet so I suspect the garage were quiet and taking advantage. So from being quoted £45 in the morning to paying a bill £288. It’s well known that any garage should call before doing additional work.

   walked in, some old grumpy guy was looking at me not saying hi or anything. Asked if they have time to have a look at my car issue, they asked if the car outside was mine and when i said yes they laughed and said that they don’t have time for cars like that. Just because it was a bit lower to the ground than normal cars. Other mechanic said it’ll take him whole day and he can’t be arsed to do it. Was willing to pay for their time. As a business owner can’t imagine myself turning down customers like that. Is that difficult to just do your job?Never coming back. Rude and unprofessional - felt unwelcome as customer

   I took our 2 cars here over the space of a week. Both services were detailed, thorough, honest and competitively priced. When I was a muppet and forgot to mention a minor issue, they kept the car in question and sorted the issue the next day with no extra charge (very minor issue). Really happy with their work and attitude.

   I would advise all potential customers to avoid this garage. I was needing a last-minute service and MOT, but my usual garage was fully-booked for the next 10 days. I phoned Champion and Emmett, and they were able to fit me in the following morning (in hindsight, this should have been a red flag). When I dropped my car off, the mechanic I spoke to quoted me 'approximately £200', and that if any additional work was required that they would phone me to discuss and approve. Later that day, I returned to collect my car. It had passed its MOT; a new cylinder and bearing had been fitted. The bill came to nearly double the quoted price - £376. I had had no discussions with the garage regarding any additional work or cost. The mechanic present was unable to negotiate the price and kept stating 'I thought the gaffer had rang you'. Eventually, he rang the owner, 'Ashley', who had done the work. He fully acknowledged that no discussion had taken place regarding additional work. It took a long and unpleasant discussion to reduce the price - initially Ashley had asked for £300 (in cash). In the end, I agreed to pay £250, but even then, I feel as though I have been taking advantage of. It is garages like this that give mechanics a bad name. A 'one-star' rating is generous.
