What a beautiful place to walk, talk and unwind....and so local too. Despite the recent deluges of rain the paths around Pennington Flash were well kept and walkable. The hides were informative and great places to watch the local bird life. The on site cafe was a welcome sight at the end of our walk and served a wide selection of hot and cold drinks and snacks. There is even an outdoor play area The whole site was wheelchair friendly too. The car park is ANPR and you pay on exit at a pay station Highly recommended for all ages and abilities

Great place for a walk, a little muddy after a lot of rain. Fresh air and lovely spot for a coffee too. Parking available, payable on exit.

Now with the new cafe it seems busier still at peak times. Lucky I don't go peak times too often. Beautiful for sunrise and sun set, walk or bike its a wonderful setting.

Really well laid out nature reserve made from a lake and marshes formed by mining subsidence ( hence the name flash) several well maintained and accessible hides around the water, playground area, food and ice cream and cheap car park. You can wander around the water and also up onto the Liverpool to Leeds canal. A nice place for a family walk.

Lovely nature reserve with well maintained hides. Nice cafe, and reasonably tidy public toilets although they are only open when the cafe is open. Ample parking, reasonably priced. Look forward to the reopening of the lower car park as enjoyed the walk up to the lake. The Bunting hide is my favourite. There is also a great upgraded kids play area.

Peaceful, you'll find barges, giant sculptures, plenty of birds and birdwatching huts - and if you're lucky, an ice cream van on a nice day!
