Loved how the place was decorated for Christmas felt very festive was lovely to have so many shops under one roof on very wet day! Great food outlets & feel safe there thanks to lots of security staff. Good toilet facilities suitable for all.. this place is immaculately clean.. sometimes nice to sit & watch world go by as plenty of public seating available.. a great place to visit any time of year!

The centre is compact and clean, with improvements made in recent years. It’s a small centre, with a mix of well known and lesser known brands. There are not that many stores and not much of a variety, the centre itself doesn’t have many services / amenities. The food options are fairly basic and are typically all fast food options. Many of the food options are the American brands that have been popular in recent years, such as Wendy’s, Taco Bell and popeyes. The centre doesn’t seem to have any empty units, meaning that they cannot expand their range. If the centre was larger, I’d rate it higher. It’s fine, but not a shopping destination that you need to visit.

I recently spent a full day at Drake Circus Shopping Centre in Plymouth, and overall I was pleasantly impressed. Situated right in the heart of the city, the centre brings together more than 70 familiar high-street and independent brands under one roof — it’s definitely one of the main retail hubs for the region. From the moment I arrived, I found the layout convenient and easy to navigate. The signage is clear, escalators and lifts work smoothly, and the clean, airy interiors made walking between shops comfortable. I also appreciated the free BT WiFi throughout, which made checking options and comparing prices on the go effortless. The retail mix is strong: I found everything from fashion, accessories, tech, to beauty and gift shops. Big names like Next and Primark anchor the centre, which helps draw a wide customer base. For a break, the adjacent Barcode entertainment complex adds real value — it offers a modern cinema (including IMAX), various restaurants, indoor mini-golf, and more, which is perfect for combining shopping with leisure. In terms of practicalities, the parking is generous, though the rates can mount up if you stay many hours. Shopmobility is available, which is a helpful inclusion for those with mobility constraints. My only minor critiques: during peak times, some corridors get crowded; and while the centre is modern, some areas feel a bit generic in design. But the positives far outweigh these. Cleanliness, accessibility, variety, and the integrated entertainment options make Drake Circus very worthwhile. I’d rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars, and I look forward to returning.

The café and restaurant area on the upper floor offers a good variety and a nice spot to take a break. The staff across the stores and the mall itself are friendly and helpful, and there’s a strong sense of safety and organisation throughout. Parked in the Drake Circus car park 4-5 hours for £6. Lots of great shops & eating places. Kept very clean. Toilets on ground floor.

I rate shopping centres by how long I want to stay in them, plus how long I actually end up staying in it. This one was a treat. Clean, fresh, great array of shops, right amount of busy, nice vibe and great layout. Will definitely go back. Ps. 1) Photo is of the roundabout leading to the building. 2) there are other car parks a short walk away if the Drake Circus car park is full!
